Hey, I actually made it to the 48 hour film challenge at First Night Spokane. I actually did vote for yours and the other video with the guy that misspelled wonder. Some of those videos in there were pretty dang awful. I didn't stick around to see who actually won the challenge, but I hope it was one of my votes. ehh anyway, it was a great film.
Thanks for showing up and voting. It was a rough film festival contest, but it was the first one NXNW put out. Their DVD authoring system sucks, it had audio compression problems on the first half of the shows. I think some people were mad because this film company added problems to their shows with those DVD problems.
THE AWARDS:
There are 4 categories to win in.
1. First Jury Selection.
2. Second Jury Selection.
3. People's Choice 1.
4. People's Choice 2.
The Jury selection is a group of professional people from local media businesses, they choose two of the top 8 films. The audience gets to choose 2 out of the top 8 films to win People's Choice. You can win one from each category.
Our cartoon won Second Jury Selection!
The "Wonderr" short film was the prize of the night, winning First Jury Selection and People's Choice. They received an award certificate for each of the categories.
My friend's movie, Resolutions, won the other People's Choice award.
Over the course of the evening, they screened each short film FIVE times! And all of the screenings were SOLD OUT. It's nice to know that I made it into the finalist category to be shown to so many hundreds of people, and then to be selected by media entertainment professionals as one of their top picks. BUT, you know the People's Choice award is where it's at.
