HAHAHAH. LOVE THE COLBERT REFERENCES, YO!

I was watching a Colbert Report from last week on my DVR, and he did the Threat Down and it was all about the airline industry.... and then he did a special "Threat Down Wag of the Finger" at Richard "Richie Rich" Branson of Virgin/crazy appearance on the show fame...

IOW, the two greatnesses WERE COMBINED.

You're going to update a top 500 exp list? I'll believe it when I see it. METHINKS THOU DOST JOKETH WITH US.

I have passed many semi-depositers since I started depositing daily. Well those characters have given up and make it easier to pick off. Missing less is easy but the guy ahead of you may not miss more.

Pick 'em off. :::gunfire sounds::: One by one, baby.

I'm not even worrying about it right now, but once I'm up to around #55 or so, I do think I'll probably start tracking the exp every week of the people between #40 and #54, say, to see how and when I'm going to actually make it up to #50 at that point.
hmm I going to steal that idea when I get #105 then we would need the exp list to be updated weekly or monthly.

No we don't. You just check the profiles of the 20 or so people that were ahead of you on the list I posted a few weeks ago. Things don't change THAT rapidly in the top 100 exp list, man. This ain't the b/p list.

So I get to pick the trimmings after you and your pack kills them.

Exactly. Me and Recon'll pass 'em, then a few months (er... years?) later you get to pass them, too.

Craggy Island is a fictional island off the west coast of Ireland and is the primary setting for the comedy television series Father Ted.

The real Craggy Island seen from helicopter shots is Inisheer.

Thank you Wikipedia. :)

Oh, yeah. That would be much better so we can all get to higher ranks.

Yeah, that's it! :D Awesome name! Heh, I remember thinking of a Retrogade version of his name, which would be Retrogadling or Retrogrundling.

I haven't spent a penny on it either. It was my sister who played on WoW a lot, but now she plays on a lot of Team Fortress 2. :)
Well, someone in your nuclear family has spent a penny, then. None in mine have. #;-}>

Why are you calling my family a nuclear family? o__O

Whatever. The Beast >>>> Satan.

No, it's the other way round!

I'd just alter the lyrics of The Number of the Beast.
That'd be called "filking," my good man. I've written (and/or improvised) quite a few filks in my day, aye.

It would be a nice parody. :)

I'm gonna have to echo the gfox gratitude, as that exp list (now a month old lolol) was exactly what I needed to compile a small list of the people around me. Without it, I doubt I'd have had the patience and determination to hunt down those wily rascals.

So cheers for teh infos, dawg.

Heh. Yeah, that would be an awesome name. Which leads me to believe that someone on WOW has already used it.

As for a RG name for NGling... Retrogrundling would be more of a hybrid between his current name and a RG adaptation of it.... so Retrogadling is more of a straight-ahead RG-esque name. Some people might not realise it was him, though, so the "grund" might help with that.

Well, someone in your nuclear family has spent a penny, then. None in mine have. #;-}>
Why are you calling my family a nuclear family? o__O

Nuclear family is an (apparently) American English term for your immediate family. i.e. Mom, dad, bro, sis.... if you're a kid, I mean.

If you're a parent, then it's you, your spouse, your kids.

Either way, it's the smallest family core. It means "not counting cousins, aunts, uncles, etc."

Or, it can be used to mean the family living under one roof, your family in your own home/house/apt. Those two meanings often overlap for kids, after all.

Whatever. The Beast >>>> Satan.

Sure thing. I don't get what's so lolololol-worthy of the exp list I posted being a month old, though. A month old exp list is about as accurate as a week-old b/p list. Exp just moves slower than any other stat (aside from reviews, maybe) on NG does, so it should remain useful for a whole lot longer, thanks to the 10 per day cap on that stat.

Also, even at a month old, it's far more useful to people such as yourself and jonthomson and iscrulz and anyone else who likes to see who's around them for TEH PASSING in exp rank.... than all the 2007 exp lists that are available, and that's exactly why I posted it. #;-}>

So cheers for teh infos, dawg.

You're welcome. Glad it proved useful to ya.

There should be plenty more new ones forming from this week, since Colbert's in Philadelphia for the week, and is having tons of fun with a fake Benjamin Franklin, the mayor of Philly, etc. etc... and that was just last night!

Tonight, it's Michelle Obama. And later in the week (apparently), Hillary Clinton herself. GASP.

I hope he gets Bill and Barack as well, or else it'll be feeling like a non-sausage party. AND WHO WANTS THAT.

Oh wait, us guyz. #;-}>

damn I need to get a dvr my dvd recorder can only record 2 hours at a time. I recorded that episode as well, the wag of the finger and threat down combo excellent. Damn you Richard Branson get Air Colbert in the AIR.

I only record a DVD or a VHS anymore if I want to save something for a good long time. Even on the DVR, I keep some things for a month or two. But mostly I delete after my gf and/or myself watch it.

until someone/thing gets put on notice too.

Oh yes, the on notice.... and don't forget "Dead to me."

If all four could come together... MAGIC.

Well since ramagi updated monthly I reckon I will too, So you updated on March 19th I dost thinketh I will. Then someone will take over for me voluntarily.

Ah, so your whole plan is to take over the list updating, but never to actually do one before someone else decides to take on that role. SMART. #;-}>

picked one off just 5 days ago going the windbag next.

The windbag? That could mean so many people. WHO IZ IT?

Well I could but I will forget because by the time I get to 107 it will be 2009 late.

Unless you miss deposits, though, the only people who could possibly be ahead of you even in 2009... are people that I linked to a month ago. So your targets/competition/whatever are still all visible, waiting for you to check 'em out, should you want to. IT'S UP TO YOU.

Exactly. Me and Recon'll pass 'em, then a few months (er... years?) later you get to pass them, too.

Personally, I plan to stop depositing permanently once I reach level 55 since it's the only level I wish to attain and as a excuse to escape the balls&chains of revisiting newgrounds, everyday. Not to say, I haven't enjoyed my stay here on NG ;-)

I plan to keep on depositing until I don't feel like depositing anymore. Which will probably be when I die or if I lose all my limbs or something.

Hey, BR... isn't level 55 that kick-ass golden sword? If so, I heartily endorse your idea. EXCEPT... that by the time you hit level 55, you might need to keep depositing (at least every other day or so) to maintain your level 55 sword icon, if scaling resumes with Pimp at level 60.

Which is, I'm pretty sure, what ramagi means by "maybe longer than you think" right there... since what else would cause delays for a level 42 to get to level 55, other than Pimp hitting level 60 before then, which he will? Yep.

I inspired myself to check, and spent the past hour getting all the exp amounts from two pages ago for the top 64... and then getting all the exp amounts for them today. While the same 64 people are in the top 64 (as I'm still at #64, even though NG thinks I'm at #63 for some reason... Shrapnel is listed as ranked #0 today due to some glitch or something...), a lot of jostling and rankchangery has gone in in the past month.

BEHOLD.... this is how I track exp for myself, the filenames of the shortcuts of those 64 profiles. Every time I want to check them, I open the profiles and record the new exp amount, change, and ranks of all 64 folks. FTW.... and if it wasn't clear, most recent rank is on the left of the ranks listed... then the next most recent to the right of that, etc. etc..... then the +change..... then the most recent exp amount is at the left of all the exp amounts.... then the next most recent exp amount to the right of that, etc. etc... then the username.

AGAIN, FTW:

Did someone in the upper ranks (i.e. above me) get their exp reset? I just noticed my rank went up one but I'm still immediately behind the same 10 people. I checked for deleted accounts but came up with nothing... anyone know what's up?

To elaborate (well, to actually answer your question now that I DO know you passed me at some stage), I don't feel much more than slight disappointment. I had no control over it (except for maybe leaving my account to someone a little more regular in their depositing habits before I left) so I'm not gonna add tears to spilt milk. Before now I'd just assumed you'd always been in front of me. And really, you signed up before me anyway, so I had to have passed you first. Guess we're even. ; P

Yeah, you both slipped for awhile, and now everything's all back to the natural order of things.

.... now... I've got to do that same exact thing. With about 60 people. BALANCE IT.

Hey, BR... isn't level 55 that kick-ass golden sword? If so, I heartily endorse your idea. EXCEPT... that by the time you hit level 55, you might need to keep depositing (at least every other day or so) to maintain your level 55 sword icon, if scaling resumes with Pimp at level 60.

"mother of all that we as human hold sacred!" I'm fear for that scenario!

Which is, I'm pretty sure, what ramagi means by "maybe longer than you think" right there... since what else would cause delays for a level 42 to get to level 55, other than Pimp hitting level 60 before then, which he will? Yep.

Ah yes, well guess I'll have to accept it or jump off a bridge. Here's to a undying commitment as a statswhore on Newgrounds! :-)

I am, in fact, not burning. I mean, my skin certainly isn't, nor my body hair, nor any organ visible to the human eye. And as my current skin temperature is aproximatly 36 degrees C (or 98 degrees F), it's extremly unlikly that my internal organs are burning. So why did you say that? Did you wish me to burn? Or are you currently in a state of combustion? If so, I recomend you "stop, drop and roll" or apply large amounts of water. Unless it's a grease fire. Or napalm. Or an electrical fire. In which case, I'm not sure what to do.

Interesting psychological profile you've given us all there. I can certainly see why they would call you the melodramatic fool, to say the least.

Fortunately, you've not been called things like a serial killer, or a wife beater, yet. There is still time however.

Nein! I see it now... gfoxcook, he's orchestrating it... he's putting everyone against me... and as verily as did king Lear see the inevitable betrayl that led to his downfall, gfoxcook has told you all of my terrible ambitions!

Oh, I get it now... I get it. #;-}>

Folks, I've been overly anal and "taking things at face value/without connotation/sarcasm" with Vert on a couple occasions. Once on the BBS, I believe, and once in my userpage's news post's comments.... Vert is trying to play at my game by my rules.

JUST AS I HAD PLANNED. #;-}>

Cute? Of all the things I <may> have been called in my life by my fellow man, such as a traitor, a liar, a killer, a troll, a sevenstar (if you know what I mean), a bully, a marshmallow*, a nerd*, a plague ridden scumbag, a cynic, a evil bastard, a melodramatic fool, a fanfic writer, a troubled soul, a fan of Gigli, a mutant, a prince of Wales, a Christopher Walken, a emo, a lyncher, a doubter, a meat eater, a rabble rouser; that may have been one of the most painfull.

Why would being compared to Christopher Walken be painful? That would be a great compliment!

Except that the natural order is obviously with me as #1. So your last statement makes no sense. I'd recommend you study a little bit of logic before posting here on Newgrounds.

In your world, a 2003 signup is supposed to be #1 on NG?

Dude, there were 200,000 or so accounts on NG before 2003 began... all of them could have been higher than you in exp right now.

There's exactly 7940 accounts that could have been higher than me in exp right now. Instead, only 63 are.

The only people I feel REALLY have a rightful claim to the "natural order means me at #1" status... are 1999 signups. There were only 17 days in 1999 that you could have gotten a NG account. And folks such as Pimp and HT and Shrapnel (and indeed Tom and Wade Fulp, but they don't value exp #;-}>) are those rightful 1999ers.

LONG MAY THEY REIGN.

My goal is to get ahead of everyone with a 2001+ signup date, seeing as how my signup date is in 2000. But righting that wrong... will be hard.

You should focus on getting ahead of anyone who signed up in 2004 or later, since you signed up in 2003. See how that works?

LOL!

Fortunately, you've not been called things like a serial killer, or a wife beater, yet. There is still time however.

....

Or the #1 user in exp, for that matter.

This thread will remain quite weird for me for some time to come, as I keep looking at it and feeling small. Most of the threads I visit nowadays, I'm one of the highest level users in, but this one, I'm actuallt one of the lowest, amongst the regulars.

Whaaaaa? Hm. I never looked at it that way.

Welcome to Brobdingnag, Mr. Gulliver.

Guys, guys... Vert's not being serious, he's just playing the role. Like DoD... but intentionally... and most importantly... WITH irony, unlike DoD. #;-}>

So as much as I don't not want to unwrite that which wasn't unpreviously unwritten, I'm sadly forced to conclude that gfoxcook payed you all your weight in three headed monkeys.

You.... want to undo.... stuff that wasn't "unpreviously unwritten"??? well, ignoring the term "unpreviously" since it's NOT A WORD, and makes no sense.... wasn't unwritten = written?

You want to undo words that were written. Ah, there we go. Makes sense now. #;-}>

Hopefully that will clear things up.

Yes. Enjoy it while it lasts. I speak of the tough and trying times of the folk in the top 100.... to inspire those NOT in the top 100 to not take their situations for granted, while they last (presuming daily deposits, of course.... otherwise, the situation will last forever!).

Bedn said something? :O I thought he wasn't going to have anything to do with the revival site. I only went by SK and QF since they were the ones talking about bringing the site back. I think that was late 2007, though and nothing seems to have moved forward since then.

Bedn made Retrogade in the first place.... why couldn't Bedn remake it?

I AM CORRECT, SIR!
YOU ARE INCORRECT, I'M AFRAID.
How long will we keep this up? I AM CORRECT, I'M AFRAID.

You ruined it. Both with the non-caps text at the start.... and by repeating my "I'm afraid." COME UP WITH SOME ORIGINAL MATERIAL, DAGSNABBIT!

That just made me think. You only had like 7000 EXP when I first came here? Wow.

Um.... yeah? I only started depositing every day in January 2003. I had about 900 exp around then, despite having been on the site for 1000 days, and thus should have had more than 10,000 exp.

So... if you signed up in mid 2004.... then that's somewhat over a year of depositing since I started doing it religiously in Jan '03.... say a year and a half. 7000 exp from 700 days overall, but take out the 90 or so days I'd deposited in 2000, 2001, and 2002... so... 600 days from early 2003 on... boom, you're into mid 2004 right there. What's not to get?

Heh, sorry Vert, but it's hard getting the giest of what your saying. Maybe this is was all an overactive & imaginative sarcasm/reply or.. .. well, what James, I mean FIGEMTUM has said about you being..... Well in either case, you play a great role as a religious fanatic, yikes. But, I still think you owe gfox & fig an apology or an explanation. Btw "Death Note" rocks.

YIKES INDEED.

Oh god you two, please find enclosed two plane tickets to a SatanCon. Jesus Christ!

I'd rather go to SantaCon. Con stands for consensual, right?
