I don't know how close you was to your uncle but i think it's worse if your were actually living with the relative. That way you will be reminded of their absence more often.

I had an uncle who died on Christmas Eve... I knew him ok, but not that well as he lived in another state. He had kids though, and I think it's safe to say they'll be having problems with Christmas for the rest of their lives eh?
