The song is rueful, IMHO. A song of defiance is not the most mature of things. Especially when we are being urged to defy authority to the point of self harm. Warnings exist for a reason. The state cares about its units of production, and we are warned of hazards so that we may live and build a strong state.

Oh....wait.....Green Day are teh Nihilists. :o They don't care about society because they are HC and angsty.

I have MANY Green Day albums, but I don't pretend that they don't irritate me sometimes.

Well, I just got DDR Extreme 2 for Christmas, so I don't have all of the songs yet. In fact, what the heck is V?

The term "best song" is rather ambiguous.
It can mean either the greatest song on account of chart sales, or your favourite song, i.e. fact and opinion.
That's why there are silly arguements.

Anyway, back to the point, it's hard for me to choose, but i suppose my favourite classics are:

Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
Pink FLoyd - Wish You Were Here
