Just read the lyrics, and listen to some randomn songs from Franz Ferdinand.

Compare, and look at the overuse of the same words.

QUICK! MAN THE LIFEBOATS! TWO SEPERATE BANDS USE A FEW OF THE SAME WORDS IN THEIR SONGS!! JESUS, THEY'RE ALSO STEALING THEIR INSTRUMENTS - A BASS, TWO GUITARS AND A DRUM KIT? THOSE FUCKING SCUMBAGS!! AND ALSO, THE BEATLES SING SONGS AND SO DO FRANZ FERDINAND - BLATANT PLAGIARISM ALERT!!

Sure they have their fair share of crappy groups, but which country doesn't?

To list a few of the greatest:

Iron Maiden
Pink Floyd
Led Zeppelin
Dire Straits
The Beatles
Queen
U2
Radiohead
And lots more...

That is true. With the exception of Dire Straits, U2, and Radiohead. They suck.

But overall you're right, but you did leave out the Ramones (even though I'm not quite sure if they're from Britain).

So, few same words here and there. I'm sure your precious "Japanese Rock" also re-uses phrases and themes. It's pop music. The themes are recurring, and have you ever heard of "inspired by <band>". And if you refer to "Elanore Put Your Boots Back On", which sounds like the Beatles, it's done on purpose. It's a pastiche.

You can easily tell that they're listen to The Beatles while recording their 'music'.

Holy shits, concur many.

Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, The Strokes, Kasabian, Maximo Park, those are pretty much the only new bands I listen to (as in post-70's)

I love the Iron Maiden! I don't care too much for the others. (Exccept maybea pink floyed.)

Though Green Day, SOAD, and Korn do rock.
