They were definately part of the britpop era, and most certainly famous worldwide, but i think they've sold themselves out recently. I can imagine them being like the rolling stones (even though the stones rule).

Britain has some great underground bands, their is at least 2 or so that I can say on the top of my head that I would class better than ANY band that I have heard from elsewhere (remember this is an opinion and i said that I have heard)
