Because they really don't do a whole lot to help animals other than blaming every body who isn't a part of peta, Also some of the things they do is simply disgusting eg: Telling Young children that mommy kills animals or handing them happy meal boxs filled with blood. At least WWF is doing stuff that actually helps animals, sutch as raising funds to stop the extinction of species.

The mainstream isn't 'anti animal rights'. They just don't care about animals...like the majority of America.
I don't actually think PETA did that whole, "killing housepets thing".
I bet you don't.
How could you blindly support them, if they did things that were 'immoral', right?
Here's one: I don't think Bush actually went to war. This makes me feel better about supporting Bush.
What do you think it would be like if everyone called you crazy and harrassed you for eating dead things?
You mean, like PETA does to people who excercise their right to eat meat?
I'm very pleased to see that so few Americans support PETA. It restores a little bit of my faith, in my fellow man.
I swear by my life - and my love of it - that I will never live my life for the sake of another man, or ask another man to live his for mine.

For your information, the whole thing about PETA killing house pets is entirely true. They actually store several thousand animals they "rescue" each year in meat lockers. PETA members have also been known to engage in violent activities, and the organization lends it's support to terrorist activity (from animal rights groups, not Al Quaeda or anything of that sort).
I am somewhat of an animal rights supporter, mind you. I do not believe that animals should be killed for amusement. I am also strongly opposed to the idea of hunting an animal to extinction, for the sole purpose of wearing its fur. I eat meat, but I prefer to know that it was killed in a humane fashion, and not butchered alive (These things actually happen). Plants are living things too, you know. You cannot survive in this world without killing something.
I am not opposed to using skin or fur for clothing, either, provided that the rest of the animal is used for nourishment. I have no qualms about eating beef and wearing leather, but I do want animals to be treated in a humane manner, and PETA is not doing that. They'll kill scores of "rescued" kittens, and then spill blood all over a kid for wearing leather, the worthless bastards.

Personally I think killing a member of PETA and ELF should be not charged as "murder" to a mere "misdemeanor," and yes, I am serious about this post.

Fuck, I mean it should be changed from a murder to a misdemeanor. I hate it when I have typos in my post.

they are crazy. and they do call us (normal ppl) crazy for eating meat. they're animals, PETA, they cant vote, think, or talk. well. xcept monkeys, they can do sign language sometimes, but i dont think they would taste very good. If those maniacs take away my hunting and fried chicken, i'll gladly grab a gun and join the mentaly unstable.

I like some of their ads but notr for the message. I mean the ones with models. the funny part is the models will be wearing leather and fur instead of phleather or whatever. speaking of phleather its not biodegradable so they are hurting the enviroment but saving some animals but animas live in the enviroment that phleather hurts, oops

I can't understand why PETA would be handing out happy meals boxes filled with blood. It's not like McDonalds uses real meat in their foods.

PETA is a scheme, a lie, and a badge of corruption. It proves the common fact most people hate to admit:
Almost all organizations faith based, government, horrible, fair, just, or otherwise will be too slow and/or corrupt to complete their actions in a timely, correct and efficient manner.
My reasoning for PETA is as such:
PETA kills animals,
PETA says protect animals,
PETA funds other violent organizations,
PETA's highest-ranking official uses products that were animal tested,
PETA is not a peaceful organization,
PETA has and will lie to the people of earth.
PETA has been shown this way in the TV Penn and Teller show BULLSHIT! On Showtime.
Please feel free to investigate me.

The main thing, for me, is that Peta's shelter has killed over 12,500 animals, and in 2002 killed 85% of the animals it took in, wheras most other shelters kill less then 40%
Hahahahahaha, LiveCorpse is dead. Good Riddance.

You know why I hate peta? Because they don't understand that animals are stupid. And I don't care if we eat too many animals as long as they arn't beaten before they die. If they die a quick and painless death they will be none the wiser. Also in the bible it says I can eat any animal I want. Thankyou.

They do have a point that we should share the world, unless we want to drown in our own filth, however, they go about things in such a poor manner. They choose force and scare-tactics opposed to logical reasoning and civility.
Personally, I hate radical groups like PETA because of how they sneak their propaganda across. Going to elementary schools and giving the kids stickers of cute cartoon animals; Oh, of course, their web address on those stickers which leads to over glamorized images that would make any war hero vomit. I think that really adds pizzazz to it.
They’re all criminals. How much violence they get away with still amazes me. But then again, it’s for the animals…

Exactly. They're fucking nuts and they show absolutely no morality

I thought the Holocaust thing was especially messed up. I mean, they put side by side photos up of Holocaust victims and cows being slaughtered or something like that. How the hell anyone could compare one of the most horrible events in human history to something that happens every day to sustain the needs of society is beyond me.

spaying and neutering is done under anestesia, so the animal doesn't feel a thing. maybe you should think about it from another perspective-
pet isn't spayed/neutered. their kittens/puppies are abandoned/left in a shelter where they are put to sleep when no one adopts them. -OR- pet is spayed/neutered. they are clean shaven down there until it grows back. they never have kittens/puppies. that changes things, doesn't it?

It's not that the mainstream is anti-animal rights, but the fact that PETA often engages in radical tactics to push for an agenda has most people hating them. I have nothing against animal rights, but when push comes to shove, then I see that we have a problem here. They care (much) more about animals than they do other humans. They are against medical sciences that have SAVED human lives at the expense of ONLY A FEW animals.
If you want to know how bad PETA really is, watch the DVD of the second season of Pen & Teller's "Bullshit" and view the episode on PETA. Watch it. I dare you. I dare anybody who sympathizes with PETA to watch (of course that would be like daring a Bush republican to watch "Fahrenheit 9/11").
And BTW: I think instead of being called "PETA: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals", they ought to be called "PETA: People for Extortion, Terror & Abuse".

Alright, everyone hates PETA for quite alot of reasons
One, they are crazy. They have a good goal, but they take it wayyyyy to seriously
Heres an example: My dad works for Kraft and Oscar Mayer. A couple years ago, they made Trolli (Kraft owns Trolli) RoadKill gummys. These fruitsnacks looked like smushed animals. They even had a tire mark going right thru the middle of the treat. PETA complained because they said that it motivated KIDS to run over animals.
correct me if im wrong, but I don't see many kids driving down I-69.
PETA was sued because they went to Elementary schools and showed animals being skinned alive on TV. They said that they were just trying to stop kids from buying fur coats.

i seriously think that meat eaters/fur and leather coat wearers should have their own organization to beat down on peta, especially when they satrt pissing u off ass you're about to bite into a delicious "murdered" animal or as you're wearing your favorite dead animal
