After the pains of a merger and resurrection of leadership and focus, Newbie Animations, together with Team Orius, concocted a small community called "Metropolis Studios." Like Newbie Animations, this studio hopes to teach aspirants and veterans the skills they need to succeed in Macromedia Flash. It includes Team Orius, the Metro section for indies, and Newbie Animations.

Even while Twilight Venom withdrew for an indeterminate period, NA had already fell into limbo through a difficult merger with the Director of Orius' group, Team Orius. Their merger together--one considered to mutually benefit the other--fell rapidly into stagnation. In other words, nothing got produced, and people started feeling antagonistic towards the leadership, either in their rough manners or their absences.

Upon Twilight's leaving, people requested that I take charge of Newbie Animations and offer it some sort of resurrection (as per the spirit of the holidays, incidentally). Hence, Newbie Animations will become whole once again. We reintegrated our old infrastructure (MSN chats, mostly, with hopes to expand) and devised new projects in search of enthusiastic artisans and technicians. We intend to resurrect the sort of glory that gave us our NA Collab and Helbereth's Big Fat Tutorial--the only tutorial ever to land in the top 300 of Newgrounds.

Our current projects include "Nick the Newbie," NA's flagship cartoon series written by "Force." Nick is the incompetent that never quite realizes it; you know a few like that (admit it--there are a few even here). Well, picture that guy being born under a star that pisses in his cornflakes every morning, and you get Nick; most people win the lottery--Nick co-signed on a loan from a man that bled from three orifices.

The other project is "Jumping Jazz," a comic urban dark fantasy game where you're a lovestruck guy seeking his new lady friend while thugs, pigs, and speeding vehicles try to kill him. And this city goes "Silent Hill" on him constantly, and he fights supernatural foes if only to please all the goth kids out there. It's a bird's-eye action game with crazy twists. Fellow member BleeBlap currently programs the code for this game.

Both of these projects require good people to enter our group and contribute. Many other projects are pitched, but we insist on keeping things simple. We'd like to see what you are made of, so pitch your resumes and links to your work. And if you're a rank amateur, sound the green horns and jump right in. We don't care how skilled you are at present--we just need some fresh blood and insight at our site.

And upon becoming a member, why not pick a team? Metro users are like neutral guys here--very flexible. Orius guys work with The Director and generally have some background in flash. Newbies could mean anybody that has at least one failing, or weakness (or a whole slew of weaknesses).

I hope you reply and suggest or ask anything. The links above will show you the way to the site and my e-mail address. Contact me anytime, and be sure to stop by!
