I (like most people) used to think that Kwanzaa (if that's the way you spell it) was just a holiday celebrated by "African-Americans" that was just kind of a family get-together sort of thing..... then I actually read more into what the holiday is all about. The conclusion... THIS IS THE MOST RACIST HOLIDAY OF ALL now before you start getting angry and calling me racist allow me to give some reasons behind this. If you wish you can start by looking here http://members.dca.net/areid/kwanzaa.htm
1. Based purely on the black community (duh)
2. Only celebrated in America (no such holiday in Africa)
3. The entire holiday is based on the furtherment of only 1 race, in the case shown above called "the people"
4. The holiday was made by an African militant, (in other words someone who hates white people)
and 5. In other websites I've been to it makes it sound like something the "3rd Reich" (for those historically ignorant that would be the Nazi movement in Germany) used to say, it kind of goes like this "In the greater good of the work we do with and for one another, for the community and for the liberation that will last forever of our community, ourselves and for our RACE"
So again I ask the question... "Is Kwanzaa really a holiday?" or is it just an African militant's way of slowly trying to not only encourage RACISM but to actually put it into a public spectrum so it is socially acceptable?

It's only celebrated in certain areas (mainly around big cities) living near Dayton, OH (the 15th most dangerous place in america) I see a lot of black people and at times I do see something for Kwanzaa, but the only time I do is when it's a rather raceist family and/or the west side (I've boarded up houses there before) what do you mean "why didn't clock crew spoof this by-the-way?" I'm just curious, OH by the way tommarrow is the first day of Kwanzaa

kwanzaa was created just so black people would have something different to do during the christmas season, no other reason.

well isn't kwanzaa celebrated with something according to fruits? I could imagine Clock Crew doing something fun and of course educational about all of this.

You are right.
Kwanzaa is just another made up holiday (created in '66)
Shouldn't these people be celebrating these traits year round by actually doing them. Most people in the inner cities (black people included), will never adhere to one of these traits in their normal life.

Theres 1000 clocks registered on the clockcrew site. Alot of them don't do flash(or do it extremely poorly) though. So if your only talking about serious flash artists I have no idea. At any rate if you want to find out go to http://www.clockcrew.cc and http://www.clockcrew.cc/bbs

Workshiping a god that enslaved them for 300 plus years? where the hell did you get that from? They were enslaved for maybe 100 in this country and many were freed when they got older.

well, all holidays were manufactured whether they be for the benefit of hallmark profits or otherwise. no day ever originated in the beginning of time as a holiday, just like january 1st isn't really the beginning of the year. furthermore, if you do your research, you'll find that our calendar is off by about 4-6 years, so we're really living in either 2007 or 2009...give or take.
but i've gone off on a tangent.
the bottom line is all holidays were invented for the purpose of celebrating something, relaxation, or in rememberance of an important event that occured on that day. kwanzaa therefore, is a real holiday in this country as it is recognized by the government. the fact that it is by all counts a rather racist holiday doesn't lessen that.
