Go here to have all of your hair-splitting and technical questions dealing with the distinguishing factors in all of the different genres of electronic music. It's got everything from French House to Gloomcore. Each genre also has an average of 5 samples, which is a definite luxury. I apologize if there's been a topic about this already. Everyone should check it out!

Thanks for linking this, I was sure someone had done it before, but it needs exposure.

I feel this deserves bumping, because it is such an excellent source... This site should also be in a sticky or something. It covers everything...

API's link taught me how to write my latest song, pulsar.

But nobody can hear it, because you all suck.

Except the sample, which is like, 20 seconds long.

who on earth cares about what genre their music should be in and also what electronic music is, jesus wept, if u havent figured that shit out for yourself then you are either too young or too stupid. Damn genres, they only serve to catergorise everyones music and make it into something it's not. I hate genre specific ideology, it's such bullshit, i don't see the point.

I think you're the only person on here that doesn't appreciate that site. Genres were made so that people could search for songs of the same type, they weren't made "to make music something it's not" like you pointed out. Genres serve a very important purpose, and without them, music would be unorganized like candy in a halloween-bag.
