Reading a post about a guy knowing what he was getting for Christmas got me thinking.
How many other people know what they will get for Christmas? I have never known, and will always keep it that way. It takes the fun out of it!
Also, how does everyone DO Christmas? Gifts at the end of the bed? Gifts before Christmas Day?
Tradition in our house is that everything is left in the one room, which my mum locks, then we all wait until everyone is awake and we all go in together.
Man, I love Christmas tradition.

I'm getting a gorgeous long black coat, and i've got a stocking. Xmas ain't xmas without a stocking. No advent calendar this year though.....very disappointing.

Eat mistletoe, it's good for you.

Sometimes I know, like last year my parents didn't know what to get me, so when I came home for thanksgiving break, I had a remote starter put in my car (very nice for when you have ice and snow on your car or it's 10 degrees like it is right now).

The whole family goes to grandma and then when we go to dinner a book lies on your plate. I dont know what book I'm gonna chose this year. But I'll see...

We all just come out in the morning to the tree with
our pressies under it then attack it.
Only one I can think of.

It's my friend's birthday. And another friend's on New Years.

Yeah we have stockings too, usually where the money and random small items are left.

I try to not find out what I am getting, because as I get older, Christmas is getting less exciting. So I try to keep it as exciting as possible for myself.

Usually my Dad puts the stuff under the tree in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. Then when we wake up, we first all open our stockings. Then my Dad hands out what is under the tree, and we all take turns opening gifts. I don't see the fun in everyone attacking and just ripping everything open. Seems like it would go by to fast.

Christmas tradition is that we all put everything under the tree and have a great big meal and exchange gifts after dinner.

We wait till after dinner to open whats under the tree, Mum leave stuff from her in the room, wrapped, we open that when we go in in the morning. Then after dinner we open what's under the tree from family and friends.

Know what I love the most, though, is when you wake up first thing in the morning, and you can smell the christmas dinner through the house, because Mum was up at 4am putting the turkey in the oven so it'd be ready for 1pm (Christmas Dinner Time!) I look forward to my christmas dinner all year.

Rabbit pie? At Christmas? The rabbit probably had a family, you know. You sick man. Turkeys don't have families. They live their lives with one goal in mind, me eating them, and they try their damn hardest to get fat for me.

Well, in Finland, we allready get the presents on Christmas eve. The big dinner is also on x-mas eve. We eat ham (not turkey) and assorted fish. And a lot of caseroles.

I don't know what I'll get, but I asked for this one CD, and I hope I'll get it.

I took some of my family out for dinner a couple years back that came up over $150 CAD. That may not seem like a lot, but if your a college/uni student, it's a goldmine. Anyways, I didn't get anything back. Just ONE thank you. Heh.

When people want to buy me something for christmas, they usually ask what I want first. I don't find surprised gifts exciting... Too scared I might have to sell it on ebay after, for .99 cents.

yeah ive discovered that as i get older christmas is loosing alot of its apeal to me. Granted you still get gifts and such, but the christmas fealing isnt there. I remember the days when i would be in the christmas spirit a month ahead of time and i would be crossing days off on the calender, and i couldnt wait for christmas break. now theres it less then 10 days to go with college and work theres no time to waste speculating, and i hjavent felt anything near the christmas spirit. Now instead of looking forward to gifts im looking forward to a day off work and most of all the opportuunity to see my brother again. And as for christmas break off of ollege i couldnt care less, instead of college i just put in more hours at work. But to answr the original question. there is one tradition i am trying to hold onto. Every year around christmas theres a list of movies try to watch. They include but are not limited to Its A Wonderful Life, Christmas Vacation, Miricle on 34th street... New version and old version, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, and a few more. The way things are going i dont think theres going to be enough time to complete the list. In conclusion i hope everyone finds the christmas spirit this year... im still looking.

While I was still at home, it was a matter of waiting for Christmas day to open all our gifts, allowing us kidrens to get up early and bug the shit out of our olders. We were allowed to open one gift the night before.

Now that I stay in my own place, I make the rules :P. We open gifts on Christmas day and then a good lunch is made, unless otherwise determined.
