These people involved in these protests are just "professional protestors", Often they know very little of what it is they think they stand for, Most of these people are no more than "Attention whores" they just show up to any protest & act all self righteous in public, the news likes painting the Police brutallity picture but they know there's no news in telling us what the protestors did in the first place, Often it's protestors who are the instigators of the violence, A couple of weeks ago I saw a teenaged Amature performer(he was just a wanker showing off at a Venturer thing, I'm being nice) & he started Spouting off about M1 & fighting the "Capitalist Pig Dogs" & what not, but I could tell he had little or no clue what he was on about, Despite him spouting all the Anti-Capitalist stuff I know that if there had been an Anti-communist protest the very next day he'd have jumped on that band wagon too.

I have a dislike for extreme Capitalism but I hate protestors, I look at protestors & see a bunch of loud mouthed counter-productive Wankers.

Now for the bit that really gets to me, How can these people Act so fucking righteous when they take marbles to make the horses fall, they Beat the horses, they push the horses over, They poor petrol(Gasoline) in the path of horses & light it, What is so Fucking Righteous about assaulting innocent horses?

Ironically the Amature performer(he was a fire breather) was wearing Nike shoes & was seen again the next day in McDonald's.

I guess I should just said World Bank protests in the title instead of naming the protests, If I had have named any one of the American protests in the title I might have had people take notice.

I'm not even sure what they are protesting.

Pantomime: Finally something upn which you and I agree.

I too think senseless violence is stupid. It actually doesn't help the protestors gain support for their cause. I just fear that one day, they will push certain people too far, and the police or someone else will really rip into them. Then there will be blood on the streets, and that's not good for society. However, general society will sit back and give the police carte blanche by then.

Perdix: I agree. I think many of them have no idea but for some oft repeated rhetoric. They lack focus.

I'm fairly sympathetic... to the protests in Seatle and Quebec. But I agree with you all. People shouldn't go out and protest if they don't know what the hell is going on... because it just cheapens the whole movement... whatever it may be.

This reminds me on an unrelated related (but rather amusing) story that happened in Toronto, Canada a few years ago.... involving anarchists.

For a few months there was a Canada wide or North American wide Anarchists meeting being advertised where people with the "ideology" would gather and "demonstrate" in front of the provincial legistative building. When they finally gathered and squattered government lands, the "Anarchists" had problems organizing what to do next. Suprise suprise... So in the end they just rioted and fought the police. ^_^ Cool.
