Please tell me you have a proper server for this, and not just using your desktop or laptop! If not sorry, ignore this! If so, get the proper stuff else it will run very slow!

And this computer has a lot of RAM? How much bandwidth does your connection have? Upload bandwidth? Can you get additional IP addresses from your service provider?

That's no reason to go around insulting ppl -.-

And if you're setting up Apache locally, it's mostly just for testing.

It's soooo funny seeing you tell someone else they can't do something. Look at you, you're pathetic. You actually think that you have a game developement company, and you think you're going to make PS2 and XBox games.

He has a MUCH better chance of becoming a Webhost than you making a PS2 game.

I just fucking asked how to code it. I don't need your dumb ass to give me the fucking scripts. And I am not the only one working on this project. And you AlternateAccount are a fucking dumBASS. And I hope you fall off a fucking cliff. And toast, thanks for sticking up for people. You are one of the nice people on Newgrounds.

Yeah, sadly.. it's all true. But still... don't lower to their levels and flame them back. Anyway, I have no idea how to help you... but I just wanted to tell you that I'm sure you'll do good with this and will become successful.
GOOD LUCK!

Ok, dick breath, first off I know your going to think this is funny coming from a level 1. But just becuase I am only level 1 dosn't mean i haven't been doing this for a long time. dburford11 is my partner in crime and we are going to make this webhost! dburford11 has been coding for 3 years now and he is nothing close to a NOOB, LOL oh and yea and i went to you site. I went to see your page sorce. And I noticed your meta names(if you know what they are). And I saw your used a content manager system. Your a FUCKING DOUSHE! You just got done telling my friend that he can't code but you go off and use a CMS!?! So next time you make fun of a "NOOB" for something. Make shure you know what your talking about first! Also these forms are for helping people not telling people that there dreams and ideas arn't going to work! You need to remember you were a "NOOB" once too!

And I have grown up around computers, my family has had them since before I was born. So please shut the fuck up and quit being such a complete and total creme-face (if you know what those are, LOSER!!!). But seriously, I hate you. Go ruin someone elses life.

CB Game Dev is one of the top-of-the-line 3rd party game developing companys.

lol. You're such a bad liar. You're not releasing the games because you don't want people to steal them. Right, sure.

Also, this was pointed out by Afro-Ninja in a different thread: where is your company on the XBOX developers list? http://developers.te..m/index/by-letter/C/

If you're not on that list I don't see how you can be developing real games.

Well, listen. I'm on your "side", dburford and UtileTheGhost, but I think you should all settle down and stop insulting each other. This will need to nowhere, If you work on a web host I do not think you need to waste your time on insulting some not very intelligent people. First of all insults could make it become better, I understand you are angry at him but if you are truly intelligent don't get as low as him - "Don't lower to his level". Argues can be sometimes either interesting or completley annoying, try not to insult and be not-very-nice.

I would advise you even to start a new thread about it, or just totally ignore -joah-. I wish you good luck with your web hosting company.

Heh, this is pretty funny. All this thread was about was a question some guy needed help with. But it's people like -joah- that can make an entire thread a flame fest. Very, very sad... if he actually made a game, I wonder how rude the characters would be :p.
I hope this thread just gets locked.

-joah- you retard. You think you seem smart? all you have been doing since this thread started is try to sound smart, act importent and be an asshole, guess what?

we don't care if you're smart, even if you are that's unrelated
you're not importent here, period
and you've been a total asshole to this dude who asked for help

guess what? 600GB is OK for starters, he just wants to learn not become the next multinational hosting business instead of helping him you started ditching him you stupid prick.

before you reply to my criticism please READ the whole godamn thread, he just asked for help and you just tried to ditch him instead of teach him, go work for microsoft or something but just leave these boards.

As for the thread starter, I believe that the easiest is to get a premade administrative tool, C-Panel or Plesk are good choices for starters, they both contain the features you asked about

Whatcha gonna do about it?

I don't know anything about setting up a webhost but cpanel is great (along with the cpanel mail system with squirrel mail, horde and neomail), fantastico installer is great, PhPmyadmin, MySQL, etc. all good, all important. Just make sure to have those features or something similar and you'll be good to go. I hope it all works out for you in the long run, even though you're young and still learning.

Don't be afraid to ask, even if you do get the occasional 13 yr old asshole that likes to just call everyone losers. Chances are, someone has the same questions/ideas and that the question(s) can be answered in a MATURE MANNER.

I meant cPanel's administrative side, the admin's ability to set up accounts for people he/she hosts, phpMyAdmin just logs into the database based on your password so you don't need to config it each time just it's SQL path (at most) which makes things relatively easy

Yeah I have a dedicated server and on it I have Plesk.

Plesk is really good. The interface is like windows, and it allows you to easily create user accounts and limit them (space, bandwidth)

Thanks to the nice people. We are begining to code the server now. Before I say anything more I would like to say this topic was started because I wanted to know how to code it. Not the entire PHP/MySQL scripts. And I am pretty sure 600gb will get us more than twelve people.
Cpanel is a really awesome Control Panel, I have it on my Zelda site, we are building are own Control Panel though. We are willing to spend alot of money on this so don't worry about that Joah. SO thanks for supporting us (if you did), and are servers will be up in about a year.

How did you code the signup and login stuff? How do you give out a certain amount of space to a new member. Oh, and by the way its gonna be paid hosting with updated scripts each month.

Wow you really are a loser and a liar. You coded the forums? I think you downloaded them from: http://www.ekinboard.com/
Yeah, you did.

You tried to remove all signs of it, but you failed.

There's nothing wrong with using a premade forum script, but lying and saying you made it is just stupid.

self-coded = more professional but way more hackable, if cPanel finds a new breach it gets fixed instantly, if you get hacked you're on your own, now ArmorGames uses Plesk with all it's dedicated servers for that exact reason
