Audio question

Out of curiousity, where do you guys get voice actors for your flash? Do you record your own voice? What do you need to record voices/audio?

I have never submitted any of my movies to newgrounds but. When i make flash animations sometimes i ask friends, sometimes i use my own and sometimes i search the newgrounds forums, i dont know the link but there is a VA club somewhere :)

When i record my voice, i use audacity, its free and pretty good, google it!

Sorry, just one more thing, What can I use to record sound? Will my USB headset work?

It should. Quality may be down though.

I use a labtec USB headset and it works great so yeah, use that with audacity and you should be set! Also audacity lets you create .WAV's or .MP3's so experiment a bit with what you feel most comfortable with.

Also try to find a tutorial on audio optimization within flash itself, that can be one of the biggest problems in audio with flash, only use the bit rate as low as it will go without it sounding bad.

And when your animating, try to use stream unless your using the audio file more than once in the movie, streaming helps a lot with quick loading and lip sync. You can find stream in the properties box at the bottom of the window.
