OK... So how about it? we choose a sample or sound clip, or maybe a bassline or sumin, then anyone who wants to compete makes a tune using the sample or whatever. when everyone's finished (we'll make a time limit... a week or sumin), we get ppl to vote on which one they think is the best.

i did that the other day!! lol. i made a drum n bass track with a sample i took from an NG flash. came out pretty good as well. ok... we take the amen break and each make a tune with it. we'll see how different they come out. im up for playing around with it again for a new tune. at the end, i'll mix everyone's tunes together. it'll be sick. i say we have a maximum of 10 people in the competition. who's in?

When everyone's entered, I'm gona host the amen break for you all to download. as for the bassline... fuck it. i cant be bothered. we need another lil catch though so I'll host another few samples etc along with the break. everyone can download it as a pack and we'll see what people come out with. It can be any genre. maybe we have enough people already. it could be a 5-way comp. whadya think?

basically, I'm thinking you make a tune... it can be absolutely anything... just use all 3 samples. at the end we have a vote for he best one.

Im thinking that the main rules should be that:

we can only use the samples provided, AND the samples that are default in the music making program (IE fruityloops)

hows that sound?

Actually it was Ghosts of X Mas (Proteas) who deleted the post... Because one of my rules resembled something of the Top 5 AP.. but the nI e mailed him (didn't get an answer) and said that the Top 5 AP is a corrupted decision, because of all the 0 voters... And some of the GOOD artists actually don't get recognized, because there songs don't show up on those Trance Charts and stuff...

Well - that's great if you use FL I suppose... I'm using ACID Pro though and there aren't any default samples or anything like that...

I will only use the three samples provided but I am taking great liberties with them, for example warping them up a bit and chopping them into new bits in SoundForge or Audition along with some severe vst processing :)

Should be fun...
