I run a game server which uses a fucking HUGE amount of RAM and mine only has 256. I have dell dimension 2400 with xp. and p4 2.4 processer. I was wondering if anybody thought that this new system is worth the money (Its a small CO. cyber power:
-dual memory sticks, 512 ea.
-1 gig ram
-P4 3.6
-dual nvidia 7800 video card
-80 GB Western digital HardDrive
-XP home SP. 2
This system costs $1100 (including a LCD flat panel moniter)
Worth it?

Well, if you're just running a game system that should be fine..But if you're playing CSS or BF2 with more than 20 players most of the time I would actualy build a custom one.

It's cheaper, my computer i'm running right now has these specs.

Video card : X-tasy radeon 9600 256 MB
Ram : 512
Hard drive : maxtor 120 gig 7200 RPM
Motherboard : Asus K8V-SE deluxe
CPU : X86 authentic AMD ~ 2002MHz

Without the case, and other accescories it came to 1300$, order things ofline and you get better deals.

Well, its a pretty good computer for a game server, I like the dual nvidia cards, but the only thing I don't like is the windows OS. Other than that, go for it!

Well, 1100 is not a too high price for a good system, go for it. ;)

If you are serious, then I'd opt for a pair of 10k raptors in raid zero and a dual core Athalon 64 core (4400+ x2?)
You'll probably want 2GB ram, thats what I run in my testing box and its fluid with most everything, even on a depreciated mobo.

Just my .02
