or get fl , cubase, and reason - and then rewire them all together!

reason needs tempo changes - then it will be perfect.

you can change tempo on reason. highlight the notes you want to speed up/slow down and right click on them, then click "change events"

that takes up too much time and when you rewire a song with fl the existing tempo changes in fl fuck up the song part in Reason..

I've never enjoyed Reason, but that doesn't make it bad.

Btw that sounded almost stupid....Paragon lvl proggy?

First of all get a good arsenal (20-40k HQ samples) and about 200 good plugins including Vanguard and z3ta.Beast is also a great plugin ;D.

Now sit ur ass down in front of fl and use ur brain and imagination to atleast 110%.

Then sit in front of reason and do the same thing "- plugins".

What FEELS the best?

I've always personaly prefered reason. B0unc3 makes amazing stuff with FL, and he seriously specializes with that program. Reason is best if you want a more acoustic feel to a song, because wihout serious plugins and modifications, FL is pretty useless when it comes to orchesteral and such.

In my limited experience FL makes more middle of the road synths, with which great things can be built, and the synths resemble normal synths more.
Bounc3, and signed major artists (Dizzee Rascal) have used FL before to great effect, and many more.

Reason is a programme for sound design as much as it is sequencing, if not more so. I've found it better so far for ambient style sounds, n FL seems to own it on the easy to make dnb front, ie preset for a dnb bass sounds fatter than the reason dnb basses.
But with reason its easy to contstruct MAD sounds.

I wish i knew which was better for self expression, cos with reason if you get some notes you like the sound of that sound too similar or different you get strange phasing issues which you have to figure out, but the result is likely to be cool if you try for long enough.

Is FL the same in this respect?

Such witty, cutting repartee leads me to believe, that you sir, are a knave, a scoundrel, a very bad man. I'm sure chronamut is going to go and cry for the fatal wound you inflicted upon him. He might just go.

If i had any more irony in this post i'd have enough iron to make the worlds biggest magnet.

My keyboard and I are in the dark when it comes to software...
Can you record actual sounds into these programs, or do you have to rely on a combination of what they give you and what you can do electronicly with what they give you?
And which program has the best bang-for-the-buck?

You can't RECORD sound into the programs, but you can import sounds that have been previously recorded.

Buzz. It's free!

Handle it good and say that again please...It does however hog cpu if you use a standard preset and keep the z3ta FX ON.(Reverb, Delay and Dist)

Shut them OFF and use the FX u can apply in the mixer to reduce cpu hoggin.

Now Buzz won't work on my computer.
It runs into a problem loading the machines, so it won't even start up.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I don't know anything about the program but on the website at the top of the downloads page it says if you start running into weird errors download this patch(link) and go here(link) for answers.

Buzz is a music making program ^_^

Their little plugins like vst, generators/filters.
Lots of programmers make them in their spare time, and their over the internet free for download ect.

FL comes with a few, insert a buzz adapter thing (can't remember name), and load a bizz file into it :)
