I know that would be awesome. It would be so easy to develop for the PSP. I would love to be able to play my Flash games on the PSP.

I hope someone knows.

I'm downloading PSP Information Media Player. It's much better. Just search PIMP on google ;p

So it plays your flash stuff on the psp video player?
but what if your flash was a game? would that still work, Would the d-pad work ok with functions like left and right on the key-board?

Sony and Macromedia are in development of a version of Flash Player SDK that will be able to be used on the PSP, however, i seriously doubt you would be able to play flash games on it. However, if you learned how to make PSP Homebrews, you could find a way to emulate your flash game and change the input of the arrow keys to the input of the d-pad

Because the computer uses ASCII, and last time i checked that had over 100 inputs, and the PSP has severly less than that

And you think that a company like Macromedia wouldn't be able to devise a workaround?

Well I hope they release some sort of update, do DVD's discs play .swf files? I have a bunch of blank DVD discs, and I wanted to copy some movies that have large file-sizes, Knox, Madness, to watch when I dont have the net. ;-)

It's possible, im not really saying it's not, but it would be a long time before it's completely flawless. I mean, flash games can have so many different variations of input that working around that would be very difficult. But, also, some flash games have more input then any button on the PSP, it's going to be very hard to work around. I believe the earliest Flash Player for PSP would just have mouse and playback inputs. So, buttons, regular AS, and playback would work, but if the AS demands an input other than playback and mouse, then it wont do anything. That's just my prediction anyway, im sure there'll be newer versions which will be better then that afterwards. But, im happy just to watch flash movies and minimal flash games on my PSP

Also, IWantSomeCookies, no you cannot put .swfs on DVD and hope for them to work on your DVD Player. You'd have to get some sort of SWF 2 DVD converter

It's just my prediction, because that's how the current Flash Player SDK's are working on mobile phones etc, so i assume it would be the same on the PSP, but as i said, it would get better

Does the psp use the X86 arch? If so, linux alredy has a flashplayer(curently only v7). And the psp has linux.
You can't play flash movies with a dvd player. The makers of them simply hasn't got the idea nor time to implement a flash player from scratch for each of their custom made players. The workaround is simple, capture the output from the flashplayer and put that on the dvd. I have the feeling that the flash IDE has a menu option for that... Bitmap-movies(Klaymation) can just can just be extracted from the file instead of the capture procedue.

Move on to ActionScript 3! And please, drop the mysql PHP extension, it's so stale that it lacks features that is no longer considered new! Go mysqli or pdo instead.
