So i totally flip on Stevie Ray Vaughan's music. it's like a rap battle but then with guitar. i stumbled on his music by accident and i'm loving it. The way he plays that guitar, as if the guitar is the one singing the lyrics. No words needed. but i want more. does anybody here know more artists who make his style of music? like that whole guitar solo thing.

Btw, correct me if i'm wrong, but his genre is blues right (or jazz)? whatever that genre is, feel free to post some nice titles by any artist from that genre. Thanks.

Enlighten me!

SRV is an awesome blues guitarist. I absolutely love Stevie's music, partly because he's from Austin. If you want to get into blues guitarists, check out Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, and BB King. Also, see if you can find SRV's cover of Little Wing, that is a badass song.

Think you're pretty clever...

Yeah, little wing is a good song, so many times i just randomly "find music on the net" and only hear it months later. so i heard "crossfire" and i was like: sweet. so then i got more of his music. i already have Eric Clapton stuff, also good music. getting the other recommendations as we speak.

Thanks

I'd check out some Albert King, and Bo Diddley in addition to the artists already said. And if you want to explore some more of the blues, I'd check out some Robert Johnson. He is one of the most influential blues artists ever.

I have a band I'm positive you'd like if you like Stevie.
The Chris Duarte Group, or just Chris Duarte.
Greasy solos, and dirty blues singing.

Jason Becker, will of steel. | Django Reinhardt, the greatest.

Stevey Ray Vaughan was awesome. Some of his songs are the closest to Jimi Hendrix I've heard.

Only artist I know that can capture Jimi's heart and soul in the music. He also covered a few Hendrix songs, and greatly.

so these last days after i made this topic i've been listening alot to some of the artists above. well, i'm so loving BB King and his colabs with Eric Clapton. the few songs of the Chris Duarte group are also good. i also like Freddie Kingthey and John Lee Hookertoo. bo diddley and muddy waters are ok/ good and are my limit as in "old" older. then that just don't apeal that much to me and the quality of the records ain't great.

but the whole genre, so relaxing, so good. it calms you down + it is real good music. i have embrased another genre =) . i'll be sure to explore it more.
