Those are expensive, and hard to use. But, that's probably what Macromedia used.
If you want to get that advanced, I'd buy a book about it.
I saw a Computer Arts Projects magazine with an article about that sort of stuff at the book store. Though I can't seem to find anything about it on their website.
I recall it having Lego guys on the front. O_o
Anyway, I'm not a video expert, so I can't help you much more than some links.
