Yeah, I'm in a somewhat similar predicament myself. I'm suspecting that my graphic card is busted because the graphics in CS absolutely suck now, among other problems. So yeh... hopefully I'll get a better one soon.

What type is it? Nvidia, voodoo, what? Tell me the model and I can probably tell you the most likely problem, or maybe CS put itself in Safe-Mode foe some reason? It has happened to me before.

Well, this decision is going to happen eventually, so I might as well ask you guys what you think. Since I cant have any underscores in my name, Tom will eventually hunt me down and force me to change to something else. So I have several decisions and I need your help.

1. RB-Bran: Tom told me himself that this one sounds fine, and it keeps the RB in it which the meaning of it will be revieled once I start flash. But, RB isnt that much of a big deal.

2. RBBran: Once again, it has the RB in it, but this one looks sloppy. I dont like it at all.

3. Bran: Short for my real name (Brandon) its simple and seems original. I can get used to it, and I like it.

So basically its going to be a tie between 1 and 3 for me, but I wanted to see which one you guys thought was best.

My suggestion would be 1, cause 3 makes you sound like a bowel of cereal, UNLESS you like bran cereal, then I guess that's alright. XD

What we are is a place where people who enjoy going out to the portal and watching over it for any kind of malicious (fileswaps, suggestive, etc.) content hits the portal to prevent it from being there and to help out people to reach the EG rank, in which you will be sent to the barracks from here if you wanted to and would be greated with open arms. So really this is a place to give you the building blocks to becoming a good B/P'er. If you want to join up, you need to ask and then wait for either TailsPrower or Sekhmet to come along to accept you in possibly.

Speaking on which, in case you don't check news that often Sekhmet (and anyone else this may include in here) you need to get rid of the hyphens on the end and beginning of your name. That and underscores aren't allowed anymore on here. :(

RB_Bran, that's nasty about the laptop! When we moved, the movers dropped heaps of things and one was the old computer, we had insurance so we got the top of the range computer! But that was in 2003. It still works well for flash tho.

Apparently I can get on earlier than I expected. Are you sure I don't need a program to record me speaking? If not, mind telling me how to record my voice? Also, you can send me a script at Nightdragono_o@yahoo.com. I hope to be of good use in the project.

umm... do you have a microphone and sound recorder or Audacity? If you don't have a converter to convert from .wav file to .mp3 file go to www.download.com and search for switch mp3 converter. its a really good program.

I'm good now. I have a test ready for Shortmonkey for the voice acting part. I need his E-mail, then I can send it to him.

You only get the points once a admin/(review mod?) removes them. That can take a while. All depends how many others flagged it to bring it to their attention, and what whistle level those users have. PM me flashes you've been flagging the reviews of, maybe I can help (silver w00t!).

Well said, I appreciate all your efforts, but this isn't a flash club. You can always check in here with you progress but we've filled about 3 pages with nothing but flash talk.

I can't believe that someone else has called themselves Sekhmet. Sekmet sounds the same, but it is not the proper spelling. My old name was the_great_gordini but that just sucks. Any ideas?

I am partial to Master-Sekhmet, you keep the spelling and you carry around a sort of authority in your name. As for the a-hole who took Sekhmet, imitation is a form of flattery...

Yeah, my old club (starcraft) was locked because of the conversations we were having that we'rent related to Starcraft. It would be a tradegy if this club got locked.

Well, I searched for Sekhmet in the BBS, Flash and Audio Portal. So I'd say that it's a dead account which means if you post in that news topic or PM Tom, you can ask him about the account and he might just use his uber skills to delete that account and change your name to the desired Sekhmet.

I had the same problem with Pingu. I had to be K-Pingu, then later chose -Pingu-. Oh and Peregrinus fits in there too...

But yeah, PM tom about it, and if the user hasnt been active for a long while (as was the case for the original Pingu) he'll give you "Sekhmet".

Worth a try.

Flash news: We will start the script today. So heres my idea for the movie:

Scene 1: A classroom is filled with Civilians, the walls are blue signifying that its an NGPD building. After this scene is done fading in (from a black background), an Elite Guard walks in with a Police officer, and a Police Captian following him. These three will each be specific people from NG. After they walk in, the two PD guys sit down in chairs on either side of the Elite guard, leaving him standing. Then the Elite guard introduces himself and the Police with him. The police with him are prospective teachers and are learning about teaching NGPD skills.

Scene 2: The teacher says that their going to watch a little movie that is a basic explaination and breif history of NG.

Scene 3: After the movie, the teacher tells everyone to take out their B\P weapon, which will be their level icon. He then tells them to pair up and numbers the teams. There are only 7 teams, so its a pretty small class. He shows them a flash movie on the screen then asks the teams what they think about .

If anyone wants to comment on those scenes, tell me now. We'll write the other ones when I have less of a headache.

Yes, if you need me as a voice actor, I can help out maybe. The computer I'm using at the moment doesnt have a switch program, so you're going to have to do it yourself until I get my laptop fixed.

Tails said it before and I will say it again. We really need to carry on this discusion elsewhere. Why not use the chat room on the NGPD site? Just agree on a specific time that everyone should show up at. Use the PM system or possibly another forum. I don't won't to look like a dick or anything but this is for the sake of the club.

Here's my idea for the script which is partly derived from your idea, fremen13.
An informational movie about the NGPD. This is meant to be presented in a humorously corny fashion. Most of the humour will be in the animation, not the script :)

(Intro showing many features of the NGPD such as the arsenal, badges, etc.)

Narrator: Greetings! If you're watching this, that means you are currently an Apprentice. As an Apprentice, it is up to you to prove yourself worthy of acceptance in the NGPD! This movie will thoroughly explain the following subject matters: History of the NGPD, Our Purpose, NGPD domains, Rules, NGPD Staff, Proper Conduct, and last but not least, Allies. Let us begin, shall we?

Teh History

On November 30th, 2005 (picture of first post on NGPD thread), a swell guy by the name of MrCrawford created a club called the N.g Police Headquarters. This was originally intended as a parody club of the Elite Guard Barracks.

However, as time went by, the NGPD gained a steady flow of members and eventually became the wonderful establishment we know and love today as... The NGPD! Throughout the times, the NGPD faced numerous trials such as spammers, haters, angry noobs and even mods, but this crew survived and continued to grow.

Purpose of The NGPD
You may be wondering, "What's this club aboot?" Well, it's fairly simple. The Newgrounds Police Department serves the Flash Portal and makes efforts to make it a better place. Whether it's filtering our crap or reporting abusive submissions, our select members know that they have the power to make a difference! And you can too! :D

NGPD Domains
The thread isn't the only place where NGPD Members can go to. We our very own site called Headquarters. You can go there to see our FAQ page, view our Most Wanted List, Sign our Guestbook, view our memberlist and discharged members. We also have a forum, but we're having technical difficulties so we won't go into detail about that.

Teh Rules
This part is especially important so listen up, Apprentice! In order to keep peace and order around here, you must abide by the Rules of the Department. FYI, all the BBS rules apply here too.

Rule #1, We're #1.
Rule #2, Act appropriately, that means no spamming/haters, responding to spammers, flaming, or misbehaving in any way.
Rule #3, do not try to start a mass vote. No one condones such actions and you may be kicked out.
Yeah, basically what we're trying to say is don't go around causing trouble or mayhem. IS THAT CLEAR?

The NGPD Staff
Since we've gotten this far, I think it's a good time to introduce you to the Head Honchos of the Department. If you plan on being a member, you'll definitely have to know these guys.

This is Tails ("Here I am!"), the NGPD Commissioner and a true veteran. ("Ohhhh... look at the subtitles!") He's one of the last remaining original members of the NGPD and has served here for over 200 pages! (Tails Continues to fool around) He's also the successor to MrCrawford. Plus he's a furry :p ("Hey! That's personnal!")

Now meet -Sekhmet-, the 3rd Unit Ops of the NGPD and successor of Tails. At a very early time in his membership, he has proven that he was an excellent member which helped him earn his spot in authority. He helps Tails manage and update the thread and the site.

Also part of the staff are the NGPD Regulars, they really don't have any administrative authority around the NGPD, but they're very important to the Dept. nonetheless. Make sure you start of good with these guys and you'll be just fine, k?

Proper Conduct
Like all good members, they know that they have to do things way as it's written in the book. For example, observe this member:

Our Allies
Getting to know our Allies is especially important. As allies, we aid one another and always have respect and friendliness towards each other. These crews share similar purposes and are closely related. Anyone with ill intentions to our allies face immediate discharge.

The Elite Guard Barracks have been by our side since the beginning. To this day we continue to have a good relationship with them and send our honorably discharged members to the EGB. In fact, if it weren't for the EGB, the NGPD would have never existed!

Allies
Recently, Tails formally established an alliance with the Newgrounds Dept. of Defense. Many of our current members are also part of the NGDD and share common beliefs in protecting NG from crap. All NGPD members are encouraged to join the Dept. of Defense.

Now let's sum up what we've learned today. We learned about the origins of the NGPD, what we're for, NGPD related sites, the simple rules, staff members, how to do things properly, and learned a bit about our allies! This now concludes the NGPD Informational Video. Good luck, Apprentice!
