Hey guys, can this be flagged as unsuitable/hateful? I reckon so, as it contains pictures (albeit hard to see) of what seems to be a decapitation.

In my view it's flagable, but is it prominent enough to be flagged in your opinion?

I thought about flagging it, but I decided to leave it alone because the pictures are hard to see (ok, not so hard).

Anyway I think it will get blammed so we shouldn't worry about it... I hope.

I start to lose a bit more faith in the Newgrounds masses when pictures of a guy getting his head chopped off with the words "Suck my fucking cock" flashing in front of it passes judgement with a 1.81. I gave it the vote it deserved (1 guess as to what that was), but looks like there were enough protection-whores about to, once again, allow spam through the portal.

*sigh* No use bitching about it I suppose.

While not technically against the rules listed on the upload page, I know for a fact that Wade has personally deleted decapitation videos before.

Notify him and see what happens.

That's very true, as well as the other things you said, I will continue to stay here, not only for the stats, or the members that make it worthwhile, but for the site as well..

Sure, we don't have all the top contributors that help protect the portal, but we have our fair share, and our stats go to prove that. :D

And with the submission that's in discussion, I would say it's not necessarily unsuitable, but if Wade found out, I'm sure he would take it down.

The portal never ceases to surprise me. The crap that has been getting passed lately is unacceptable. Our only hope is the EGB and NGPD. I hope that our combined power can start swinging the portal in a new direction. We need to let the spammers know that there crap is no longer welcome in our portal. I would like to see a flash created to promote fair voting. I am going to talk to a few flash artists and see if they would be willing to help.

I'll be down to help with making something like that, you looking for collab work, a simple flash, or just something original, such as the things when used to see when we got in the final vote, before the redesign of course.

Let me know, and I could also see about a game as well, something simple, or at least something like the old portal banner, remember, the one where we could 'destroy' flashes?

I was thinking something simple. I do not have a lot of experience with animation myself, that's why I need help. I was thinking something like showing a guy who is voting 5 on everything, and then the EGB or some character jumps out of his computer screen and kills / attacks him. Then a sign comes up saying Vote fair or die! A kind of parody of P Diddy's vote or die campaign a few years ago in the USA, during the 2ed bush election.

Aw reminiscing. Sadly I was not very active back then. I came to newgrounds alot but I only ever played game's. It was not until less then a year ago that I became active in the community.

Right, long story short - Spore arrived today, so got a little behind myself today. Update will hopefully take place tomorrow evening, as the spreadsheet is ready to go and stat pull shouldn't take me that long.

Hmm... there are quite some bad stuff going through the Portal, as everyone else already stated here. What intrigues me, though, is the fact that they could've been flagged. I saw some submissions that passed while I wasn't around and... DUDE! The beheaded one is awful! Seriously, how do they pass?

The only thing I can say is that we can't lose our hope. It would be best if they got blammed while they were under judgement, but if they get deleted after they pass (somehow, they DO pass) it's also good. It still saddens me a little.

Anyway... moving onto something better. Still have to vote for the best of the month. Some great submissions this month. And this post by Tom is quite interesting. Treasure Hunt!

Yes I did thanks for the notice I wish I could do something about the authors, who make hateful flashes. Another one called me a well no need to say what as it hateful, but alas would Wade Fulp delete the submissons if I pm him?. I dont want to waste his time but making flashes that harass users ,must be against the rules. Is it because I report the possible flashes in question and the authors dont like it.?

Yes, we all know Wade's viewpoint on singling out and/or attacking users on this site. I don't doubt that he will delete it if he's made aware. If a flash singles out a user in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable, it shouldn't have to be tolerated.

On the topic of the Treasure Hunt, I've found a pretty good way to find some hidden gems. I'm sure some people have already thought of this, but for the benefit of those who haven't:

1. Create a new bookmark in your web browser.
2. For the URL of the bookmark, enter "www.newgrounds.com/portal/random".
3. Every time you click this bookmark, it will take you to a completely random flash on the Portal.

With the vast amount of submissions on Newgrounds, and the gulf in quality between flashes, it may take a while to find anything decent, but occasionally you will come across a gem of a flash that's been lost in the sands of time. Take this flash, I personally thought it was great, and would never have found it without this method.
