Lotus has accepted the role of Advancement Officer, and will be responsible for drilling any on-the-fence accepted recruits into intelligent posters and knowledgeable soldiers. From now on, during recruitment discussions, Barracks members can recommend the "Boot Camp" experience if the recruit has the potential to be great, but lacks a certain something.
I'll be sure to give this my all, and as I already said to you in my PM, it's not as if it's something I haven't already done with other users, I always had given my best to help out others, and now I have the position here, not only to ensure that new recruits know the ins' and outs', but to make sure they're enforced all around, amongst new Guards, and old ones' alike.
Thanks for the promotion, time for me to get ready for work. <3

My post was the catalyst that got Phantom, Josh and NEVR going. There may have been some tension before, but my post really set them off, which I'm really sorry for. I've said it before; I meant it to be a harmless joke, and it just got out of hand.
AND the INTERNET your POSTS are a SET OF WORDS, so all your sarcasm and tone are not clear over the bbs and it can very EASILY be mistaken if not made clear bc I wasn't too sure if you were kidding or not.
I know you haven't posted here too often (and if you have, sorry for not noticing you), but I generally don't get mad, and especially that mad anywhere in the BBS. Sure, I'll use a few curse words or get caught in a heated debate, but I never would freak out like that, especially over such a silly thing, like the roster being a day late.

After few eventful days starting with "Madness Day", the portal have finally returned to normal, and when I said normal I meant slow as a baseball catcher in a marathon race.

I have to agree with you but i guess this ALWAYS happens when i start heading out to the portal to B/P or when i stay home from school like today.
It makes me mad because i got nothing to watch except for my Favorite Flash Submissions but still...
I decided to do a bit of Audio Reviewing today because the portal was slow as it can get.

If they do come back i will welcome them with open arms, i think there presence here will be missed. But we will have to make up for there absence with better posting and more intelgent conversations. otherwise i will be posting here much more often now.

Couple more updates.
The position of NGPD Liaison has been accepted by RohantheBarbarian. Hopefully this will usher in a new period of renewed contact between our two clubs, which have a lot to offer each other, in terms of guidance and future recruits. I plan to make a long post in the NGPD to that effect in the next day or two.
The position of Violations Officer has been accepted by phantomlassuk. Nobody in the Barracks does as much as her to fight abuse on Newgrounds and she's earned the job. That does NOT mean that everyone else can just drop their vigilance, though---everyone is still expected to keep an eye out for stolen flashes, fileswaps, etc and report them here (with necessary details like original source URL's). phantomlassuk compiles the information for reporting to Wade, but she can't spot every stolen flash on her own---it's a group effort.
As for the last unsecured position, NGDD Liaison, I'm still waiting for AnalPenguinFarming's response to my rollcall PM and to find out if he wants to maintain the role. If he doesn't think he's active enough for it, a new liaison will be appointed.

Well, to start why don't you go to the page before this and read Slash's long post about mid-way down. This should give you a idea of what is happening around here in the past week. I am doing just fine to answer your question.

Well yes your grammar isn't your strong point, but it's obvious that you are trying and we all understand what you mean. I think that's the most important thing. On the other hand while I can't help you with grammar I can try and help you with spelling. You should try to download Firefox, because if you use Firefox it has a built in spell check and it will tell you where you are misspelling words. It's very useful and even when I think I'm spelling everything right it catches things now and then.

Even if they were just looking for a reason to leave, it doesn't sit right that I gave them that reason. Had I not asked Phantom to review my rant, NEVR would have never gotten mad that Phantom is giving off the impression the EGB promotes flaming, and Josh would have never ran to NEVR's defense.

I've already said this, but if they can't take a joke, or an unserious conversation, they shouldn't stick around. Sure, they brought a lot to the table for the EGB, but they just couldn't take the heat.

If you have at least Firefox 2, you should have it. Go under tools, then click on advanced. Under the second section (titled "Browsing"), there should be 3 boxes. The third one should be labeled "Check spelling as I type". Make sure it's checked.
If it's already checked, make sure you're using the right language, which is in the section right below Browsing.

Well... I don't really know what to say.
Seems like my disturbed week spread to the Barracks as well. I had a pretty tough week, and seems like the Barracks had the same. Lots of problems, flame wars, EagleRock showing up like Aslam does (when everything is wrong)... while I don't do anything. I feel bad about this, but I'll try to say... something.
First of all, farewell NEVR and Joshiwa. You both contributed a lot to the Barracks, with the roster, the nice conversations, the ideas... We will miss you.
Second, welcome, sir EagleRock! Even if it was just a quick glide through the Barracks, it's always good to hear from you and know that you're still flying around. =)
Finally, I'd like to say that, until the end of October or so, I won't be around a lot, because of various reasons. Hopefully I'll get back to my old form of posting every day here, but until then... a post a week, maybe.
That's it. Over and out.

Well I mentioned this before, but I wasn't here around summer because of all my responsibilities, work, and such. Now that it's school time I have slack time for NG again. I was active when I joined through the summer and because of that I haven't got a chance to get to know all the recruits from the summer, nonetheless josh took it seriously and I know you apologized, but I don't blame you for anyone quitting because people make there own choices. Just sayin add a jk or something, i mean it couldn't hurt.
P.S. I tend to post late sometimes bc as a college student q/ a part time job my slack time comes late (plus I was born in a family of night owls), so my posts might not always be noticed.

Thanks very much Slash, I'm honoured to accept this position, as I have very fond memories of my time in the NGPD. I'll do everything I can to promote relations between our clubs even more, as well as steer some potential our way.
I have one question though. Let's say an NGPD member ranks up to Private, but has very poor post quality for example. Should I recommend them to Boot Camp straight away, or tell them to apply and see what happens in the discussion? I know it's not a big deal, just something I'd like to clarify.

Congrats, not a day goes by when you aren't snuffing out stolen flashes, so I'm sure you'll be a great Violations Officer.
Well, I must announce the news to the NGPD. Thanks again Slash for giving me this opportunity, I'll try not to disappoint.

I think he is the best for this job, unlike me, He worked hard on the site ;) .
I am glad that the people guiding us takes their job seriously[more than me], and sacrifice their social or professional life for us.

Boot Camp---that is, tutelage by Advancement Officer Lotus---is only for members who are accepted, but need significant improvement in one or more areas. Thus, you should tell them to go ahead and apply. If their problems aren't too bad, they'll likely get accepted and Lotus-ized. If they're not ready yet, we'll tell them to improve a bit on their own before applying again.
Encouraging NGPD'ers to post here as Guardsmen is another good idea, so we can have an idea of their strengths and weaknesses before they even reach Elite Guard status---and can work on those problems as well, hopefully preventing them from having to be Boot Camp'ed into place, lol.

Yeah, I posted in the NGPD thread to give them the news, so as soon as they are aware of my position I'll begin to steer as many of them as possible towards signing up as Guardsmen.
Thanks again for clearing that up Slash.

That's nice man! Congratulations! I'm pretty sure will do a great job here. I really think you really deserve it: ). I have not been a NGPD member before applying. It would seems that it's a simillar club but for the users who are under Private.

Nice, phantomlassuck is very good to find stolen flash, it's good thing for her to be the Violations Officer, congrats! For sure, I will keep on eye out of suspicious submissions and look for the original source.

I'm not 100% sure of it, because the account that submitted to Newgrounds isn't very recent. Plus, the flash isn't that good.
However, one of the Flashes says that it was made by "Wolves1877", and that isn't the name of the "author" here. Plus, the description he gave is pretty crappy.

Ok, folks I'm checking in a bit here.
Go easy on me. ie. Use lube.
I guess I'll throw a bit of an update for those who don't keep a close eye on me.
I got married in August, went on a Honeymoon and the whole months leading up to the wedding were rife with business because it seemed like not one day was boring, or at home. Weddings take more planning than I care for and for that reason I plan on it being my only one.
Anyway, to top it off now we have an EPT that has a little "+" sign on it so things are still a bit hectic.

That's amazing, a Newgrounder that has had sex with a woman. A true rarity.
No matter what, raise him/her as a boy. That way when you show him/her Newgrounds (when he/she is 13, of course), he/she will fit right in.

He was one of the best actors in the business, and one of the best people on Earth. He did so much good with his money, and his salad dressing was delicious and healthy.

Hate to say it, I kind of knew it's going to happen and I did it without buying to all the crap from National Enquirer, when you have cancer at that age it isn't good. It was from a thread posted abut a month ago, he'll be missed.
On another note, my last two dreams resembles films, one's a gangster/John Woo type film with the other is a tragic version of a Disney-type film.

Congrats Viper! That's awesome news! :D
Slash, I love your choice of words in saying one will get 'Lotus-ized' in boot camp, I'm not too harsh on a person though, assertive, but not an ass. ;)
So, with boot camp, will it be left to my judgment as to who needs it, will others appoint people they feel need it, or will it be a mix of the two?
That's the only thing I'm curious of at the moment, and well, I have no problem with how the people are chosen, as long as they aren't publically called out in an uncalled for way, and as long as they are accepting in knowing that I'm to help them, and while I might criticize them in some ways, it's not meant to be harsh, but to make them better posters. <3

Thanks, everybody for the re-welcome.
To sum it up, Yes my wife is hot, and yes I've had sex with a real woman. A human woman at that.
I read about Newman passing. I don't think I ever really watched much of his stuff, but he makes a eman salad dressing and his popcorn isn't too shabby, either. he will live on with us on the cover of boxes and bottles in your local Food Mart.
Let's see... Oh, YES! Watch this! I made it.
