I stayed away from this club because of my garbage whistle that I thought would be impossible to get out of because of some stupid marking when I first started marking reviews, but after finding about 5 pages yesterday of abusive reviews I have seemed to make my way out of garbage and into normal. I was wondering if I could be considered for becoming a member to this club?

Well i log on Newground Log every day i think ,i logged about 140 times now. I love it its a wicked concept Casualty, came up with. Reviews now 700!, i written 83 in about two months. I only had 3 audios reviews before that. I wanted to be on the top 100 review, list but they seem to have gone quiet lately. My sound mixed now my b/p rate, crap. I love to be higher im just lazy when come to doing that.

I also log everyday. I even sometimes log several times a day just to see if I moved up in any rankings.

Congratulations. I've decided not to do any flash reviews until my audio reviews catch up. The only flash reviews that I do come through the review request club or if I see something I really want to review.

I didn't have any audio reviews a couple of months ago. Then suddenly I wrote about 40 in one day and just kept writing them. I'm not good at writing audio reviews, but that's probably because I don't really know too much about music itself.

LOL. I log my stats each day, and just log them again 2 or 3 times over the course of the day to see how I'm doing. I'm not quite as avid as you, but NG Log is a very useful tool.

Meh if I had the time I could average that or more a day.

But who has the time these days? I barely even have the time to get 50 B/Ps per day anymore. I look at all these people getting 100+ B/P per day and wonder how long they spend at their computers each day, with the curtains closed to keep out the sunlight... slowly getting rickets.

Not to belittle their achievements through my bitterness, of course.

Welcome to the Barracks! Glad to hear that you fixed your whistle and would like to join us. I'm the Barracks Recruitment Officer, Supreme Commander Slash Firestorm. It's my job to examine new prospective recruits and see if they've got what it takes to join the EGB.

Let me explain how the recruitment process works.

Currently you are in "Standby Status" while your case is considered. During this process, me and the other Barracks members will take a look at your record---posting quality, review history/quality, flash record, etc---and see if there are any problems.

Don't worry, we're not too strict about these things; we just want to make sure that you have a decent posting record (not too many one-liners and no flaming/spamming), don't make abusive reviews or rulebreaking flash, etc..

After a period of discussion amongst the Barracks members, I (or my superiors) will make the final call. Assuming that no objections are raised, this Standby Status should only last approximately 24 hours. I will PM you with the final verdict.

All EGB members can go to the appropriate thread and give any questions, comments, or complaints about this new recruit (must be signed in to view/post/vote). If there are no outstanding issues after 24 hours, I'll make my decision. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

Some of you guys need to check into the EGB forums a bit more. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one posting over there... gets a bit lonely ;_;

I'd rather this thread be active then the forum.

I've made forum for threads on NG's and hell they suck up activity and eventually the NG's thread dies :(

Not really. You're asking for activity from both the forum and thread and I did the same with the Playstation Empire and now that thread is inactive like hell but now it's starting to pick up.

LOL. You're completely misunderstanding me, dude. I'm not saying I want people to post the same stuff that they'd normally post here, I'm saying that I'd like them to go and chat a bit more over in our forums about OTHER stuff, as there are already a bunch of threads over there that people wouldn't (or normally don't) discuss the content of here.

It would be pretty pointless to have this thread, and then an independent forum that serves exactly the same purpose. Our forums are more like the EGB version of the general forums on NG, for example, but split up into sub-sections. The reason that people don't post over there isn't because they say everything they need to in this thread, it's due to laziness, or forgetfulness, or lack of interest.

I think the main reason is people would rather post here/The BBS is because they would +1 in their post count.

The EGB is hosted on InvisionFree which is easy to hack. If someone were to get 1000 posts on a forum hosted by IF and then some guy hacks it then ALL those posts are useless and probably lost. On NG's, it's most likely not to get hacked any time soon. People would prefer to post in a not so hackable place then an IF forum.

Regardless of the hacking. The EGB began with this thread. I believe that the forum should be reserved for all conversation not relevant to the EGB, Portal, or one that should be kept secret. Everything else SHOULD be on the thread, because this is where we started, this is where we recruit and this is where we rule...kinda.

If that's true, than I've just lost what little faith I have in NG people. People who think that post count actually matters are complete morons.

Who gives a shit about post count? The point is to enhance the community. Right now in the EGB barely anybody seems to know each other, which in of itself reduces inactivity, because less people have something to say to others.

I won't be around for much of Clock Day became my family are going on a vacation in Alaska for a week so when a time comes, I'll have to find someone to deposit for me.

That sucks your going to miss clock day but I'll bet you'll have a blast in Alaska especially if you like outdoors type stuff. I grew up in Anchorage and Wasilla, some of my best times were spent up there. Anyway I can deposit for you if you still need someone.

I do try to post everyday i find the lack of inactivity, sad do i miss the old busy EGB. When i joined in February its seemed more active. I dont know why the club are not like ,the bbs there just as important. With NGDD the contest made, it more active which is cool. With the roster on Tuesday more people are active. In the RRC ive got two flashes movies, and two audios reviews left im to tried now to do them. I finish them tomorrow. The Pigletface movies keep passing, what happened to the portal guard?.

A lot of your posts still seem to be one-liners, bar the occasional anomalous one that exceeds 1 or 2 lines. IMO, you still have a long way to go before you meet up to the posting requirements that the EGB expects of its potential recruits, and members.

It's not just down to me, though, so wait until our recruitment officer (SlashFirestorm) comes along, and see what he has to say on the matter.
