Still around people, but I'm not sure for how much longer... this will be a long post that many won't care about, but I feel this community is one I am particularly close to so there a few things I want to say about my absence.

I'm not the most active person in here anyway, so I'm sure I haven't been missed, but it has been over a month now since I last posted here, or indeed anywhere on NG. The reason for that is that my father passed away suddenly (heart attack at just 49 years of age), and needless to say I have been busy organising the funeral and sorting out his finances etc. To be honest there has been little time for grieving, though myself and the rest of the family have certainly taken it hard.

I've seen posts before, one in here not too long ago, about people feeling after a tragic event that they have been wasting their lives and intend to make the most of them more in the future. I can understand this sentiment completely, and I am closer to my family now than I have ever been. Despite this though I've been popping onto here and reading posts on a number of occasions over the past months, as this is the one place in my life where things have just continued on as normal. To me NG has always been an escape from reality, and now more than ever I enjoy that (until this post blows all of that of course...). I don't want to leave and I don't plan on leaving, but I just can't be as active as I once was...

I finally graduated from university last week, hurrah! Got my 2:1 and am now an MBiol (hons). As a result I am bound to be here less as I enter the real world of work in the coming months. Also I have an incredible girlfriend who I want to spend more time with now that I'm free from the shackles of final year study (it just goes to show that anyone can find a great girl!). It all adds up to less time on NG, but at least looking to the future I am happy and things are looking bright.

So, after all of that, I'm not leaving, but I won't be around much either. I'd like to remain a part of the community here, after all this is my real home on NG- the first place I joined and the one that means the most to me, but I don't have the time to be active in pushing this place into the future.

Yeah, I know that you form greater emotional ties with the ones that are left behind. Grief unites you and from that position, you move forward, stronger.

Once agian why is this topic so much like a ghostdown. Sentio i so sorry for you loss like WasteWizard i do not know you, but i think your very brave posting on here at such a time. Well its nice APF rejoined RRC again ,i find writing reviews lots of un audio the worst.

I'm so sorry, I know how it feels to lose a loved one. 2 years ago, I lost both of my grandparents, 6 months apart from each other. One of cancer, while the other suffered from the aftereffects of 2, possibly 3 strokes for a couple of years before she finally let go.

Trust me, you'll never be as active as you once was. As soon as you leave for an extended period of time, you seems to lose the drive and the want to keep posting. It feels awkward to jump in on a conversation, and you just end up lurking.

You have to move on sometime. Think of this as high school; sure, when you graduation, you move on to bigger and better things, but you still feel the urge to stop by and see how all you're old teachers are doing. Don't resist that urge.

While the internet is rarely serious fucking business, it is critical to remember that behind the aliases and screen names and stats, there are actual people on the other side of the computer---actual people with real families and friends and problems. It's easy to forget sometimes, but forget we cannot.

And while this club is founded on silly internet stats, we're all friends here, and the fact that we're connected by series of tubes instead of phone lines doesn't make that any less real. Anyone got a problem, they can talk about it here without being made fun of or ignored. Anyone needs to take some time off, fine, this IS the fucking internet and no one will blame you for having to tend to your real life when shit goes down. We'll be around if or when things are steady enough to return to the entertainment of Newgrounds.

I'm finally getting back into B/Ping properly, as I have time on my hands now until September. Nothing is really going on for me, so whenever I'm at home I can just relax and do some B/P and watch TV... and eat lots.

Expect to see me making a bit of a comeback on the roster on Tuesday. Won't be a HUGE comeback, but it'll be a comeback nonetheless.

I know it terrible to hear about people loss but thanks what you siad is tre i hope. Well on more lighter note i beeb busy wrting lots of audio and one flash game. I love to able to do flash you dont realise the hard work and effort that goes into the flash. The game was for RRC and its was very helpful see ,my review its lovely that ,APF has returned hes got some amazing reviews.

Hmmm... I dunno, maybe. I've only gotten about 250 since the last roster. If I keep up about 50/day, then I'll have about a 350 gain by the next roster, which may or may not put me in the top 5 gainers, depending on everyone else's pace. Now I'm I have about 1,488 left before my next and favorite rank up. It's gonna be long and hard but I SWEAR I SHALL THAT RANK IF IT'S THE LAST THING I DO.

A normal whistle or higher is required to be an official member of the Barracks. You can still hang around if you have a broken whistle, but until it's fixed, it's sort of a provisional acceptance.

Aha, statwhore. J/k, we're all statwhores, but never in all my time on NG have I ever gotten more than 50 B/P in a day (with the exception of Clock Day, which I dread). I'm just aiming to get to level 20 or higher by the end of this year and hit 1k reviews, which I'm slowly working on. I'm also aiming to get to 1000 blams some time in the near future.

It's one of those paradoxical times where on one hand it seems like it was only last week... but on the other hand (and especially when you think that my 2 year NG birthday was before the redesign was even launched) it seems a LONG time ago...

So I sat here fro a few minutes thinking about that myself and I came to a conclusion that it really wasn't a bad thing but more of a NG maturity. Something to the affect that when you first get here you are overwhelmed by everything but then as you lurk you learn more and more. If you stay here long enough you become a regular and get use to the inner workings, so as in me saying it felt longer it really wasn't saying that its been a bad experience, its just the fact I have gotten so use to everything it just seems that I have been here longer.

Yeah, I'm prepared. I have my water, my bucket, and a bunch of junk food stocked up for it. Now all I got to do is clear being out of school that day with my parents and I'll be all set.

Also, I know someone already said this, but Clock Day is ALWAYS going to be on the fifteenth of August. I burned that into my brain by repeating it about fifty-kajillion times.

I have my strategy, but I don't know if the EGB has a specific one (I wasn't around here last year's Clock Day). Mine is something like this:

0. (yeah, z-e-r-o) Sleep A LOT the day before (14th) until 11:30 PM, then the party starts;
1. Open Portal Guard and set the time to 10 seconds;
2. Watch the Flash until you get a notion of what will it be, then vote. Seriously, they won't stop coming, so you won't have time to watch all of them. And yeah, you can blame me for that, but it's necessary to try to stop the mass-voting;
3. If you catch anyone using tons of multiple accounts, write it down somewhere. I think someone here will PM wade with a list of spammers.
4. Drink coffee, it's gonna be a looong day.

Also, Clock Day this year will be on a Friday, so stay as late as you can, because it isn't like, August 16th and it's over. It keeps going on after a while.

I cant wait for Clockday i mad about Clocks. I cant belive its only about 5 or 6 weeks. intil then. Its almos a year ago where does the time past. I loved last year i wonder if Rupeeclock will submit, or Strawberryclock himself.
