Everybody is new once. Try to be nice to these people, because in a few months to a year, they may be EGB members themselves. We try to set an example here, because even though the rest of the site may treat newbies like garbage, doesn't mean we have to stoop to their level.

I guess you're right. I'll play nice and from now on when one of them makes a blunder or follie, I shall take them under my wing and familiarize them with the site. Uhh, no. It'll be like it was when I shared the roster with Sterockicy - we just work off the data from each week's roster, so it stays at a set weekly rate and there's no confusion.

Yeah I suppose it is unusually for that many in one day. But a lot of these spammers submit more than just one of those unsuitable flashes so that is probably why. I find it pretty stupid for people that submit those since they will never pass.

Morning Barracks! I've been on the Portal watch today and already been getting some rule-breaking (mostly stolen) submissions duly taken care of. I'm really enjoying being able to report these kinds of submissions more quickly and effectively, and seeing the "authors" get their due and proper is hugely satisfying.

I remember this being discussed before, and I remembered it while browsing some older pages here:

People used to a daily report of their Portal activities, but I think moderators considered it some kind of spammy attitude, so they stopped doing it. Well, fair enough.

But what if we brought this back, but in a monthly basis? I know it sounds a bit crazy, but we could post it along with the State of the Portal, or just post it here!

Anyone agrees with this idea or is it just plain stupid?

Thanks a lot man. Yeah I think reaching Supreme Commander has been long past due for awhile now. I don't really want to stop anytime soon either. I guess my next goal will be to reach the top 100, which shouldn't take too long.

Well in a way I agreed with them. It seemed like half of the the Barracks members only posted in here to show off their gainings for that day, which isn't what the Barracks is about. So although I didn't like that being stopped, I understood why it was done.

Some spammers never learn (Fleek especially), but there's some whodo, and who repent over time. yoshi77777 for example. I've been talking to him a bit on AIM recently, and he doesn't seem at all like the idiot I knew him as in November/December/January. Mind you he still likes his stats (just like the rest of us), but he really seems to want to do good for NG.
