Hey guys !

Did any of you guys actually play the real game named Portal?
I have played Portal: The Flash Version already by Dragy2005 and Hen7 , but I was wondering if the actual game was good.

Let me know if you have any information about the game or any opinions on it.

From what I hear, it's great. But I'm assuming you're getting it for the PS3, and also from what I hear, Portal (along with the rest of the Orange Box) has frame-rate issues. But if you can ignore those, you have on the best puzzle games of the year. And if you don't like it/find it too hard, you could allows play Half Life 2 or Team Fortress 2

The day after tomarrow I am going to buy a new laptop. Do you guys have any suggestions on the type of brand I should buy? I heard Macs are pretty efficient....I have around 2 grand as a price range, so any feedback or suggestions?

Damn! $2,000? If you got that much, don't worry about a Mac, go for a custom laptop. Ibuypower.com is a good site to go to for a custom computer, although it can be a little pricey. Otherwise, just go to your local, "mom and pop" computer shop to build your custom PC.

I've just experienced a spike in blams last night as I grabbed 27 blam points, it may not last but at least it'll put me closer to 10,000 blams.

Just don't get a Dell, whatever you do.

Macs are alright... you won't have Vista issues, either but there's a saying I like about Macs. "Macs: Because no one gives a shit."

IBM Compatible machines are still king. Macs get a lot of good press, but for no real good reason.

HP has a lot of good stuff. With less than 2 grand you can get a really good machine. You can also upgrade their machines unlike a Dell where you would have to buy THEIR parts to upgrade which is extremely expensive.

I've checked into macs and customizing laptops, and even though custom ones are more expensive, I think that's the route I am going to take. I just want my laptop to fit towards my needs, so custom is the way to go. Believe me, I know about Dell computers. I used to have one and hey gave me such a headache. I currently have an Alienware Desktop, and the headaches are all gone!

Mind if I ask what you guys actually do? I might be interested in joining.

Racking up blam and protection points to help protect the portal.

Protecting the portal. Getting blams and saves voting on Under Judgment Flash.

Unfortunately for you the requirement is 2,500 Blams/Saves and you are quite a ways from that.

I would suggest the New Grounds Department of Defense and the NGPD.

frame-rate issues hmm, like... big annoying problems ?? or just a couple things?

I'm not quite sure if the two other games of the Orange Box are really worth it, they look nice for sure, but the graphics aren't really good, they look like PS2 games at most, but seriously not the quality of the next generation systems.

If I was to buy the Orange Box, I would most likely buy it for Portal, and maybe to kick a couple aliens ass, but I really doubt that these games are in anyway "awesome games"

But for now I'll stick to my Motorstorm game, I'm getting pretty good in some races like RockHopper and Raingod Mesa :)

Not if you can stand it. All the frame-rate issue is that the graphics stop for a second, then you "magically" jump a couple feet ahead of where you just were. Think lagging in an online game.

Half Life 2 is one of the best First Person Shooters of the year. It may not look like a Gears of War, but it plays great, and has a good storyline.

Team Fortress 2 does have that cartoony look, but it's a pretty good Online Multiplayer Game. Rather than just having everyone with the same skills (like Halo), you can choose a certain class and get special weapons for them. Not only is it fun, but there's a little bit of strategy involved besides "get the over shield and jump in a circle"

But for now I'll stick to my Motorstorm game, I'm getting pretty good in some races like RockHopper and Raingod Mesa :)

Rock Hopper is a good one, and so is Dust Devil. The Gulch sucks ass though; I can never win there.

Bikes are fun, but they blow up too easy. I love me a Buggy though. :)

My MMORPG game just became online! (check my userpage for more info).

It took a long time to get it online but it was worth it!

I've noticed that the last couple of days, the portal has been slower for me. I don't know if it's the point that every time I log on to protect the portal, on my spare time, it is slow and if its just a hit and miss sort of thing. Hmm...
