Checking in again. What's new? I got a bronze whistle! Yes, I know...big deal, but keep in mind that I've been on NG for nearly two years and have been at Red for all that time. At this point, I was secretly relieved that it hadn't degenerated into a broken whistle. I don't whistle much...understatement of the year, perhaps...but after several whistles for obvious problem submissions, it had begin to feel like there'd never be a change, which kind of killed the desire to keep going. I figured, better stop before you get a broken whistle!
I also reached Praporshchik. YAY.
Which brings me to the last thing I'd like o weigh in on, namely the possibility of new b/p badges/ranks. That would be awesome as long as the b/p system never goes on a sliding scale. For the love of God, country, apple pie, what have you, please never put it on a sliding scale. It's bad enough to take up to six months or more with daily deposits to move up one rank in experience. At least with b/p you see more obvious results for watching a lot of UJ submissions. On the other hand, it would be nice to see the uppermost levels not be easily reached by the hotshots in under a year...sorry hotshots, but even you must like an occasional 'real' challenge. The upper levels would ideally be difficult but not impossible to reach.
