Hey guys, having just checked out the latest posts, I have decided to revert back to not posting. Since I have been a member here NO ONE has ever advised against stat posts. I specifically asked whether that was expected here or not so I could follow whatever rules/conventions were in force here. Now that the issue has been definitively resolved, it is clear. Hookers in penthouses, unicorns with dicks for horns and "I just had sex posts" are apparently fine, stats are not. All is clear.

People can post their stats, they just can't make posts that are nothing but stats!

For example...

Blams gained: xxx
Protects gained: xxx
Total: xxx

By itself, that is not allowed. But...

Today I got xxx points. Blah blah blah blah blah I sure liked this submission blah blah blah...

Stat-whoring is expressly mentioned in the BBS rules. We get around that because it's not ALL we do. If it was, our club wouldn't be worth having.

Trust me, I'm as competitive as anyone here. I've been a member since what, page 13...and been fiercely proud of my portal gains every day. But if we wish to preserve this club, we need to have more substance than just "I got 50 points today". You can be silly and crazy (to a point, spamming will NOT be tolerated by us or the mods), you can be serious...it doesn't matter, as long as we're all something other than our e-penis. Or equivalent e-female anatomy.

If anyone has a problem with this and doesn't want to post, fine. But just remember that there's always a place for any Elite Guard who wants to help out Newgrounds.

Yep. Although, if you want to mention your love/hate for a flash, either 1) wait for it to pass judgement, or 2) make it clear that it's your opinion, and that you're not trying to influence others to vote a particular way.

For example (and we used to have a problem with this), nothing like "THERE'S A BARNEY BUNCH FLASH IN THE PORTAL! BLAM TIME EVERYONE!". I remember when I said something like that and Major_Punk yelled at me for it. LOL that was a LONG time ago, but I still remember it! XD

Of course, the Barney Bunch is essentially gone, or at least not currently active. It's a shame, they could always make me laugh, even with the stuff I ended up blamming...but I mean all groups and such.

I think I'm going to stop rambling and make this stuff an announcement on our forums, lol.

What do you think of all those groups that do crap collab/flash and mass vote them?
I think its sad cuz they have nothing better to do then making a crap animation and then getting on 50 differents accounts with 50 different proxies and voting 50 times 5. It's pathetic...

The only one that I respect is the star syndicate one. The first saison dailytoon was bad, but this third season ( i think ) is kinda good. They have some nice animation.

Well, "mass voting" as in proxies and stuff is less common than a lot of people think. While there are proxies and stuff that can bypass Newgrounds security and stuff, only a few people know about them, and even fewer risk losing their accounts using them.

At a certain point, a successful mass voting group doesn't have to DO anything. So many people think a flash by them will pass, they give it a passing score to get the point. Thus, they can submit total crap and get it to pass.

So I think that proxy-voting really isn't that common. It's a lot easier to just get your friends to help vote 5 and let the vastly-gullible Newgrounds population do the rest. Which is why voting fair, regardless of missing a point or not, is important. If enough people do it, utter crap will stop passing, or at least have a lower score.

Now, the wars over things like TOTW, I really don't have much of a problem with. Everyone is entitled to vote on a flash once a day, and however they want. Sure, it's kinda dumb, but...the system allows it. I kinda wish they'd change things so you can only vote ONCE on a flash a week for its first week of existence, to limit that effect on weekly awards, but...doubtful that it'll happen.

yea I understand ... Like the atwi80d on something like this.. im sure after the 10 first it passed even if they dont vote on it. People just want the points. Im personally voting fairly on all flash since I submited an animation I worked like one month , all fbf , and it got blamed at 1.5. Everyone in the review said ''good job , bla bla bla'' and im sure it was good enough to get on portal , but still, it didnt passed. Im sure it was because I said '' its my first submission'' in the comment... bad thing to do :P

Anyway! I wish people wont do that on clock day :S Seeing crappy animation with a 3/5 score would make me cry :P

I will be submitting a small flash for Clock Day, lol. And I WILL actually TRY (although that doesn't mean it'll be GOOD, lol...just as good as I can do). I figure, it's my first Clock Day as a B/P'er...I may as well contribute my "skills", lol.

I just read it and I agree, however whenever Phantom gets back and adds it to the faq I think it might be a good idea to include the example you gave earlier, hopefully that will eliminate the grey areas. Thanks Slash.

Man the portal hasn't been that active recently. For the last three days there been less then 200 entry's submitted each day. When was the UD deleted and why?

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just using them because they are two model examples right next to each other. If you can't think of something to say along with your progress, then refrain from posting until you do.

Besides, if you're only here to brag, and not to be sociable with your competitors, you're here for the wrong reasons.

Anyhow, I'm tired of repeating it. It's on two pages and in an announcement in the EGB Forums, so everyone can know it by now. I expect to see no more of it. Not only do I not want to see any of y'all banned, but I do not want to see this club, of which I have been a member of for 444 pages, be locked.

Ah shit sorry about that slash I have only had little to no time ont he comp so havn't had time to look through previous pages and work on my flash won't happen again. but are you saying that if we make a post talking and put our stats that it is ok? or just no doing it from now on?

Thanks for that, Slash. I post my stats once per day and I also reply to stuff that goes on in the club. Most of the time, there isn't really anything that I can say anything useful for.

sorry for this rather poor question but why does it take so long for some flashes to get through the portal? yesterday i needed 3 moreB/P's to level up and it took about half an hour for me to get a point. also are there peak times when there is a flood of submissions as when i look they are often coming in at a rate of about 3 every 10 minuets or is summer just a slow time of year? at the minuet im only just getting 50 a day.

and this morning i found that i have been promoted to Elite Guard Corporal. ive been on Newgrounds for 51 days. not bad if i do say so my self.

A lot of it has to do with portal activity. In the late hours, such as now, you will see that UJ flashes take a lot longer to get through becasue there are fewer people voting. In the middle of newgrounds prime time, flashes can go through with a quickness. It is very annoying at times that you are waiting for them to pass or fail. Trying to be promoted and waiting on UJ can be very trying on one's patience. Congratulations on your promotion btw. I take it your per day is fairly high?

yes it is. on the NGlog thing it says i have an average of about 49 a day. it used to be 60ish but i dont have as much spare time since i got a job. i still think im doing well for myself inspite of employment.

That is not a bad average. Higher than my daily I am sure. Employment can certainly hinder your ability to spend time in the portal. That is why I am usually found on very late. I tend to miss a great deal of flash in the portal. I can only pick up the few straggling entries. It works though, I get my points where I can. Keep up the good work man. Good luck making it to getting to sargeant.

I dont think the portal is really slow ... I still got the same amount of points then usual , even more! I got 88b/p yesterday , that bring me up to 3329 B/P. I cant way to get some more level and to have a gold badge :D

I dont think I will be able to be here today ... I just got a new xbox and I said to some friend to come at my house to play Halo :D
