Yes I have seen them all its really annoying after the first one, they are all the same and they say about about something to do with Friday the 13th I guess I will keep an eye out on that date! Nice Halloween stuff in the portal don't know why Owl Orchid are flooding the portal though. Some of the names sound like former Kitty Krew members odd. The Weebl in my view is back to best. I'm getting a little tired of the Halloween theme though. However I don't think the OO are submitting anything breaking the rules yet.

Hello all, this is my 2nd roster and lets just say....This time it didn't take over 4 hours! Haha!

I think it was quite easy this time around, and I hope I didn't get anything wrong. I'm quite confident I didn't...But I still have doubts.

Anyway, as you will see, a few people have entered the list taking the amount of members from 32, up to 35.

"How does that work?!?! There was 32, and now there is 35....But FOUR members entered!"

Well Insanimation left remember? So 32 + 4 - 1 = 35. They entered the list because Slash kindly let them in due to them not replying to the roll call on time, but they did reply in the end....So I added them. 2 users (ever-vigilant and Zornkatzu), I could get the data of from my back-up roster....The other 2 (SupraAddict and Andrea364) however, I didn't. Mainly because it was 2am and I was tired at that point when I added you. I'm sorry, so therefore you are in the roster as *NEW*.

I hope you don't mind. Also, I would just like to add, if I may without straying TOO far off topic....I think you should all go and see the new film by Michael Jackson entitled, This is it. I went to see it today, and I thought it was great. It gave a real insight on how much preparation and how much of his heart he devoted to his music.

Going into a thread to tell a user that his club doesn't belong and then arguing with him over the merits of having such a club is exactly what the intention of the backseat moderating rule is there to keep from happening. Just because you didn't specifically say "lock this" or "this should be locked" does not mean that you didn't do so in as many words with your posts.

Honestly, if this is the kind of elitist dickery that we have to deal with, perhaps the moderation team should reconsider the validity of these types of clubs. I don't know if it's taking in former NGPD members who got that club locked and a lower standard of member in here or a circle jerk culture of elitist attitudes towards the rest of the site, but if that is how you guys are going to act when a like-club topic is made, it's almost as bad as the squabbling between the anti-anime and anime clubs back in the day.

I read through those posts. So, there's a slight disagreement on whether this new club is redundant to the NGPD or the EGB - and that disagreement is voiced by only two people, of which one is a member of the EGB. It did not degrade into serious name calling, and although Porkchop may have been a little rough around the edges, there is no harm in his pointing out that other clubs exist, and this new one could be redundant.

What you are perceiving as back-seat modding seems to me to be just some misplaced advice. I seriously doubt Porkchop meant anything other than to point out the possible duplicity of this new club. You are correct in that it is up to the moderators to lock threads and make judgment calls on posts and forums - that is certainly your function. But in this case, I think it was more of a case of misplaced intentions. I know Porkchop, and I seriously doubt he meant to do anything but point out a few facts.

Elitist dickery? Again, you are judging this crew based on the misinterpretation of one member. I will be the first to admit that we are far from perfect, and the age range of the members in this club goes from 14 to 30+ (and I'm on the high end). With this range, you will get a variety of responses, ranging from youthful exuberance to mature analysis. EagleRock and SlashFirestorm keep a close eye on those who bend or break the rules, and I have seen justice meted out when someone crosses the line. However, when these rare incidents do occur, they are usually handled by PM, e-mail and/or IM directly between the mods and EagleRock and/or SlashForestorm

I'll let EagleRock decide on what to do with toiletpaper and porkchop.

ToiletPaper is not part of the EGB. He drops in once in a while, but he is not a member here.

As for Porkchop, IMHO he's done nothing more serious than give misplaced advice, but yes, EagleRock will take it from here.

I hope that now the EGB members will not turn into the NGPD. No not on the posting side, but mentally. The NGPD became scared of the mods because of one or two visits, that cause the chatting to stop and the thread to become almost one existent. Then they did one thing wrong and the whole thread got locked.

Well, speaking for the Barracks, we have no issues with anyone similar to our club. In fact, we embrace it, and have done so in the past. However, it is up to the moderators to decide what clubs stay or go. The NGPD, for example, was initially allowed as a similar club to the EGB, but many clubs such as the "Safety Patroller's Club" were locked because they were too similar to the EGB and NGPD. I have no issues at all with clubs as such, but I respect moderators' decisions as to what is suitable for Newgrounds.

Regarding the posts, I agree with you that they are less than helpful. However, let me be clear that at this point in time, neither of the two are currently Elite Guard Barracks members. ToiletPaper, as ByteSlinger noted, is not officially a Barracks member and is in reality just an occasional visitor. PorkChop, on the other hand, was an active member of the Barracks but recently resigned due to the inability to be online. As of now, he's not on the active roster as well. However, I will take whatever means necessary to ensure our integrity here is held true.

I agree. I'm not too happy that either of these people spoke for the Barracks in an unofficial manner, and more helpful posts could have been provided to the user.

Again, I agree fully. As I stated in the beginning, I embrace clubs similar to ours, and we are not "elitist" in any way. While lines should be drawn as to how many groups like this can be on Newgrounds, that is ultimately up to the moderators, and we respect their decisions on that as they may be.

To be honest, our standards have become nothing but more stringent since the club started. We require no less than an exemplary post quality, Elite Guard rank (of course), a bronze whistle at minimum, and a deliberation period where members vote and state their opinions on the potential recruit. Afterwards. the officers ultimately decide on the user's acceptance or rejection.

Since the NGPD was locked, we have not accepted a single member that was formerly a part of that club. However, if we do get someone interested in joining, they will be upheld to the same stringent requirements we've always had. I assure you the EGB will never tolerate spammy or post + 1 type response like the NGPD was locked for.

Again, let me state that neither user is an active EGB member at this point, and did not speak on behalf of the Barracks. However, if either wish to become members of the EGB, these actions will be considered for the future. I apologize for the misunderstanding and misrepresentation of what we stand for here. Sorry dude; you need at least 2500 B/P and a Bronze whistle or higher to join here. Of course, you can help out with reporting portal abuse if you want to, you'll just have to wait until you get the required stats to be an official member.

Just make sure you read up on what counts as portal abuse beforehand, if you wish to help out around here. ;)

I'm aware of the comments regarding this, but as they do not speak for us, perhaps our best policy would be to distance ourselves from them. I know that you have already done this to a certain extent, but we could use an official stance on this.

Wow, who'd have thought that the EGB would've been warned by the Mods. This is a dark time indeed. All we do is politely tell the vagrants who wish to join our requirements and that they can help report abuse(NOT REVIEW ABUSE) and we would link them to the NGDD, but they're currently revamping their entire department.
