Whoever it was that asked how everyone's Madness day was B/P wise, I got 12 blams that day, and 45 saves. Most everything is kick ass on Madness day. Great quality, or it may have low quality, but the content and graphics definitely more than make up for it.

Case in point:

I'm not to sure it's just you. It's more of a "i don't know" thing right now. krev asked to be removed from the roster for a unstated reason. It does not surprise me that krev is acting like this, since i could tell something was up when that pas posted and we never got a answer. I don't think it's just you, but more of us as a group.

That's because the actual competition started today, yesterday we just finished programming and made some tests with the bot. Today, we won 3 matches out of 3, so far so good. The organizers told us they really liked our strategy and it was one of the best things they have seen in a while, and they would like us to to present some kind of exhibition explaining what we did. Of course this isn't over yet, there are still 2 days remaining (Friday and Saturday), and a lot of matches left.

Also some cool programmers and people who build robots exhibited some interesting stuff. A guy built a spider-like robot which is just AWESOME. You can give it orders and it recognizes your voice, or you can give movement-based orders (like moving your hand around the robot in certain pattern). It has a nice display which shows a lot of cool info (like information about objects surrounding it), it reacts according to the environment, and lots more.

I will probably be putting all of this in my blog soon, even if nobody cares about it :P

Madness day was great, even if I barely B/Ped at all.. I'm quoting your post out of all the others because I watched the first submission in your post and I thought it was pretty cool. I still have some more staff to see though.

Today I watched some more submissions and played Madness Accelerant which was pretty good, even if the auto-switching weapon was annoying at some points.

If members of the NGPD wish to join as guardsmen, then I agree that they should be voted in, but it shouldn't be a huge issue, at least for a long while. The NGPD is still very much alive in the private forums, and by joining the EGB as a guardsmen, it's kind of in essence, giving up on the NGPD. You know? The more dedicated users, the ones worthy of joining the EGB for the most part aren't willing to do so just yet. There is still a good chance that the thread will be unlocked and everything will be righted. Not to slight any NGPDers who have requested guardsmanship (made that word up, you like it?) Should the thread not be unlocked however, I think that former members of the NGPD voting threads should be more about why they shouldn't be allowed in as opposed to why the should. They should be given the benefit of the doubt. Just my thoughts.

Also while we're on the subject, what exactly is the requirements to be a guardsman? I'm going to check the FAQ right now, so if it's in there, just ignore this question because I'll see it. Just curious.

Unfortunately, this would be a case of someone we shouldn't allow in at the moment. Massive B/P ratio off-balance, broken whistle, low post quality...Guardsmen don't have to meet all our requirements, but a general level of acceptability, and he wouldn't meet that at this time.

We're offering a chance for NGPD members to have a temporary home, but as others have said, there's still a process for acceptance, even if it is less formal.

Call me a noob, but I've not yet found anything about this guardsmen deal on the forums. How close do the NGPD members have to be to the EGB's standards for them to be given temporary accommodation here? What's involved in deciding whether or not someone should be a guardsman?

In other news, Chapter 31 of my story is finally out: Barracks Under Fire - Chapter 31 I know it's taking longer for these chapters, but we're reaching the end of the story, and more and more detail needs to come out. I'll hope to get chapter 32 out sooner than later!

Having been at that level myself once, as far as I remember it's just a basic "Post quality and NGPD membership" thing. The post quality requirements are stricter than those for the Police were, and maybe there's a Whistle requirement too (I already had Deity by the time I joined the Police anyway, before the EGB had the "Guardsman" rank), but it shouldn't be hard for any reasonably intelligent member of the NGPD to get in.

I'm not 100% sure myself. However, "Guardsmen" were traditionally NGPD members that wished to post here as well. So, the B/P rankings could coincide. Slash is the one that creates the Guardsman requirements, but I would imagine they require a police officer rank and at least a regular (non-garbage) whistle, as well as proper Portal/BBS history/habits.

It's bound to happen, PFC. Anyone with a rank less than Sergeant can expect to be in the lower end of the B/P spectrum. When the mean, median, and mode rank of your roster is Supreme Commander, you can expect to be lower on the rank list if you're not EGSC...

However, don't mistake a low rank as lack of respect. I don't think anyone would look down an a lower rank, since we all had to start somewhere... Besides, you'll rank up rather quickly if you keep at it!

This reminds me of a cute little hazing ritual that Phantom used to do whenever we accepted new members into the fold. He took it upon himself to give the club an unofficial slogan of "The Elite Guard Barracks, where odds are everyone is in a higher position than YOU."

Haha...we were never elitist, despite our accusations. We just had fun enjoying the benefits that come with a high rank. But here's one thing to consider...when I started the Barracks, I was a pre-redesign Elite Guard Sergeant, which is now the same rank as a PFC...so, you already transcended my original rank here!

Sorry to show up with bad news (well, that depends on how you look at things, some of you might think it's good news!), but having received the Barracks role call I've had to resign my position in the Barracks. I've already given my reasons/excuses to Slash, but I felt I owed the same to the rest of you as well.

Basically I don't have time for this place anymore, nor the passion to keep active and stay in touch with the conversation. There was a time I would hit the shortcut to here before any other when I came online, but on the rare occasions I'm on the internet these days it is strictly for work, and I just can't keep up. I'm now doing a full time teacher training course, which involves both time at university and time at school, and is seriously intense. If I can't find time to sleep I certainly can't find time for here! And this doesn't look like it is about to change.

On top of that I'm now officially living with my girlfriend of 2+ years, and I don't see that changing any time soon (hopefully ever...) either! What little free time I have is devoted to her.

It's been fun here over the last 4/5 years. I'm proud to have been a member for so long (one of those still hanging on from the early pages of the thread), and I'm equally proud to have been an officer here for a period. This was the first place I ever felt at home on the internet, and one of the first places I posted when I was new to the site. If I could be bothered to look I wouldn't be surprised if half of my total posts have been in this club.

I may or may not pop in with the odd post in future as Eaglerock has tended to do over the last few years (good to see you're back for a while by the way!), and I hope that if I do there will still be a few familiar names about. In the mean time keep having fun and keeping looking after the portal!

Wooooooah there, Tiger. Check out the guy's profile. He's looks legit. He's got a site and everything.

Don't sweat it too terribly, but you've always got to do a lot of background looking before you make any decisions. Remember, it's not about the whistle points, it's about cleaning up the portal! If you blind yourself in the scramble to get the whistle, you might miss some stuff.

Also, Miniclip is not a production team. Though they're quiet about it, they mostly sponser their games, so it makes sense that the developer is moving beyond it.

I'm very sad too Sentio that your leaving but good that you have things going well for you. I'm so near Staff Sergeant ,but I'm to tried to get any more b/p today. Nice to see your new rank SlntCobra1 ten months I have been stuck at Sergeant. Guess I'm not one for doing much in the way of b/p. I have been really getting into my XBox 360 games Tomb Raider Anniversary and legend. Not to bothered about XBox live I'm not one for online play.

The lower level seems to be common with people who own websites with games. Then they will submit it here, you have be sure on what your doing and not just say it's stolen and then have some people flag it wongfully. I would not say that your a screw up as i have made the mistake too. If you ar not sure about something just say so and we can help see if it is stolen or not.

Greetings. I'm an NGPD officer currently in Guangzhou, China, returned fairly recently to Newgrounds after finally investing in a VPN to get through the Great Firewall. I've been happy to re- join the fight with them against crud in the portal, and preserve the good stuff.

However, I'd like to announce my intent on moving up to the Elite Guard once I qualify.

I realize that right now, I'm at the bottom of even the police ranking, and that making it to even Elite Private is going to take quite a bit of time, especially since I got an actual life away from the computer as an English Teacher.

The recent unpleasantness of the mods getting hacked and trashing many honest play-by-the-rules members' whistles (including my own, which I'd only recently clawed back up to normal) sure isn't making things any faster.

However, I trust that what BBS posts I do have will represent the quality of my intents and actions. I hope that you'll be glad to have me when my time comes, and that I do have my eyes on the prize: the Elite Guard.
