I is back! Well, at least until Monday.
For those who care, I had a great time at Boy's State. It's this government thing run by the American Legion.
But that was the boring part. The 52 guys in my town were hilarious. Although we didn't win Best City, we were the most fun city, even the counselor, who had been there for 18 years said that. The best night was Municipal Court night, where we arrested the counselor mentioned above for raping one of the kids, and Token (the only black guy) was arrested for being black (which was plead not guilty to).
But it was more than that; a bond was created between all of us, we spent many late nights laughing and joking around together, talking about our fortunate luck that a group from Italy was spending the week at the College also, and about what our lives were at home.
For some (not in our city), this one of the worst weeks that they could have gone through. But for me and my 51 other statesmen, this was the greatest week of our lives, forming friendships that will hopefully last forever.
Just remember - it's not gay, it's Boy's State!
