Rename the Forum

I think this forum should be renamed to 'Current Events & Politics' or 'Politics & Current Events'.

Or just make another forum for current events :)

The more specific naming idea would be nice for specifics and the two different forums even better, but it wouldn't be idealistic as this is forum is slow going as it is. (in comparison to the general forum, politics is incomprarable)

Isn't the CC forum named "Current Events and Philosophy"? The "philosophy" part or something like that may be why you get the human interest stories. If you keep "Politics" as the main part of the name, then maybe you can avoid that. Maybe the CC should include the word "Politics" in the name of their forum.

I don't see why you'd want to change the name in the first place, but I suppose you could change it to Political Debate or something like that. Specifying it would probably just attract less people.

Ah, I remember this was one of the first things I discussed when I joined the forums.

The main purpose of the name politics is not to tell people what we're talking about, it's to dissuade idiots from coming here.

Imagine a castle in a secluded valley, with the intellectuals living in the castle.
Outside this castle, the valley is filled with thousands of idiots milling about, with the occasional person of some intellect trying to force his or her way through the masses.
The idiots can't even see the castle they're to stupid, but the intellectuals eventually make their way here.
