It seems that the 360's bulky power block is really touchy. I know 3 people who have gotten the console. The first guy's console doesn't overheat even if you wrap it up like a damn newborn, then throw it into a campfire. The second one won't overheat on the carpet if you give it time to cool down every couple hours. The last one overheats if you look at it funny. The poor guy covers the thing with cold compresses because (ironically) he is the one that wanted to get it the most. Microsoft may very well do a recall, although it may be merely to switch the block. As for the PS3, who cares how much it costs!? I don't even know when it'll come out and I ain't waiting around. (Don't give me the annouced release date, I'll bet my boxers it'll be delayed...

I'm not worried about the discs or the console itself being damaged by bugs (since Microsoft will replace it anyway, god bless Bill Gates) but I'm worried about the negative publicity that these quirks may cause. The X-box is not a bad console anymore than the PS2 is a better console. It is just what it is...a console, and no matter how many haters there are, if the production is still profitable, it will continue. Microsoft is currently losing upwards of a hundred dollars per X-box 360 and this monkey-wrench-in-gears is the last thing they need. Let us pay our dues to the "evil corporation" that helped bring us some of our most loved games (yes...Halo included) and not contribute to the problems. Besides, what makes us thing the PS3 is going to be any better? Sony hasn't even begun to finalize all of the neccessary technology that will go into the system...

I don't care if the xbox 360 gets recalled or not. It still sucks anyway. HAH next gen? It looks as good as high quality comp games have looked.

ive heard lots of these rummers and there is stuff in articles everywhere, but its not like MS to recall a console, more than likely they will sell a $100+ upgrade to it to fix the problems and those with worse problems such as failed hard disks will just have to bite the bullet and live with it

What makes you say that? PS2 was recalled before and Sony is still doing fine, so why would anything bad happen to Microsoft which just happens to be owned by a certain multibillionaire?

yea this shipment of 360's are crap, my friend retured his becuase it kept freezing up on his need for speed, and its not just that game, he retured it for a new need for speed and the same thing happened. these ones are shoddy, id return em, take the cash, save it, and get the next shipment, or get a ps3 (better yet)

The PS3 won't cost that much. When the PS2 was coming out there were rumors going around that it was going to cost $500 or even $750.

price goes up fool, Xbox didnt cost $583.99 but 360 does so even if it doesnt cost 1000 i bet its gonna cost more then 360. i think the cost will be around $650.

No, XBOX 360 is only $300 just like the first XBOX and it's $400 for that "fully loaded" bundle pack thing. If you find a XBOX 360 system for $583.99, it's either a ripoff or it comes with a lot of extra stuff.

Enough of the PS3 price bullshit. It will cost $300-$400 dollars... It said so on CNN.

I've actually heard this around the internet too. There seems to be some major problems with the Xbox360, like over heating, frequent freezing, even in some cases melting hard drives and games being severely scratched. I've heard none of this from anyone I know who owns a Xbox360. Guess Microsoft put their system out too soon without a little longer testing period.
