virus may have alrdy done the damage, and ive found AVG finds the virus too late, u can search around for other free online virus scanners, but u might be screwed. Some files can contain the code that runs the worm, check those

C:\windows\win.ini or C:\window\system32\win.ini
autoexec.bat or config.sys

check in regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Wind
ows\CurrentVersion\Run
check in and around that area for anything that resembles the worm

try codestuff starter (search that on google)

try a spyware scan (spybot s & dis my favorite)

if that all fails, bring it to computer repair place and have them take a look

Never suggest Regedit or Autoexec.bat or config.sys to someone that doesn't know what they're doing. That is just begging them to fuck up their computer.

Fatal 0E has occured at 000024-000000025 well you get the idea

WTF is that

That happens when a program fails to load into memory (000024-000000025 is a memory address, file address combined, i cant remember the exact tho)

this can often happen if for example, u delete a virus that set itself to run every time u start ur computer, thats when codestuff starter and regedit come in really handy.

It can also be a kernel error, but thats pretty bad.

If your certain the virus is gone, it may be prudent to simply reinstall windows overtop of the old install which will repair and replace any and all damaged files a worm or virus may have caused.

If you are noticing problems with your start menu, it may be an internet explorer issue. Go to MS's website and download the newest (or a version equal to or newer than yours) and isntall overtop of your old one. Occasionally internet explorer can be compremised and reinstalling is the only solution.

Your RAM may also be the problem, himem memory testing should detect any problems,

this site explains how
http://users.cyberci..til/help/HIMEM_S.HTM

just follow those instructions.

something else you should try, is booting to safe mode
this will explain how
http://www.microsoft..s/boot_failsafe.mspx

and from there, try and reporduce the problem, if the problem still occurs, then you definitly should bring it to a repair store because its likely a hardware failure in your system.

i have 2 sticks of RAM so i took one out and it still beeped and then tryed the other one and it still beeped so it is the motherboard likely

if u've tried all ive said, then either the computer repair store, or try a reformat

for you with the bad ram, im not sure if failing ram for sure causes errors cause i have used an older PC, after a year when i got it, on of the sticks started to fail and it would only run at half capacity, but it would boot at full, so the ram would just get dumped once in awhile, it caused funny effects in games but nothing really serious.... but perhaps windows 95 was just more robust about crap like that

I personally think you should do a system restore back to before you downloaded the virus. You will lose all the info past the date you descide to system restore on, (which should be before you downloaded the virus) but you will at least lose the virus.

But if this an everyone else's suggestions fail, you should ask BeDn for help </sarcasm>

You won't loose all the files from after the date, but you may have a chance to delete the virus before it executes itself.
