Revolution Round Table 2005-11-28 11:52:59

I had the pleasure of participating in a 1Up.com Nintendo Revolution Round Table discussion this past week. Check it out!

The roofers are here tearing off the old roof of our building right now. They use this elevator thing to bring up roofing supplies, so whenever they get dropped off on the roof there is a loud THUD and debris fall from the lighting behind me, right onto the XBOX DevKit. I moved it out of the way, though, so problem solved.

We also did a little demolition and Stamper took video, so I'll be posting that shortly. :)

"Tom Fulp, co-founder of The Behemoth
As one of the key figures behind indie breakout hit Alien Hominid, Fulp is one of the few independent developers in the United States developing GameCube titles. His team at The Behemoth is working on a currently untitled side-scrolling four-player beat-'em-up for current generation consoles."

Are you planning on making a Revo Hominid? Please say yes! :O

Here's a pic of where the lighting cage dropped down and the debris have been falling through:

No plans like that at the moment, sorry. I do have some neat ideas for the Rev, though.

Hominid would pwn on the Rev.

Tom Fulp: If we come up with a game idea specifically for the Revolution that is just too fun to pass up, I'm sure we'll do it.

That would be great. After all, "it will be common for someone to own a PS3 and a Revolution or an Xbox 360 and a Revolution, but not a PS3 and Xbox 360 without a Revolution."

So how about putting a link to the article on the Behemoth's website?
Or is this a Tom Fulp-exclusive opinion that has nothing to do with the company as a whole?

I agree, AH was great but move on and up! Just keep on making 4 player great mini-games with them (All You Can Eat)

Any chance you'll be teaming up with famous NG users for mini-games on your new game?

Agreed. It would be an honor to personally chainsaw those kids in the guts, ESPECIALLY on a Nintendo console :P

sucks, because other than resident evil, nintendo probably won't do a gorey game. especially if the system is focused on a wider variety of people, mainly "everyone."

Tom Fulp (The Behemoth): I'd like to know just how responsive it really is. I've played an arcade game that uses sensors to detect movement of a toy sword. It was fun to swing the sword around and jab stuff, but the translation from movement to screen wasn't as precise as I would have liked. What I want to know is, will the Revolution let me chop off someone's hand, carve my initials into their chest then poke out their eyes? That's the kind of precision I'm looking for.

That would be awsome. XD

Indeed it would be awesome to do that sort of stuff and I bet Tom is thinking of something like that for one of his games that would be released on the Revolution.

Looks like you've been having a lot of fun Tom. :)
At first I was a lil concenred about the controller, but then I thought of the possibilities (Imagine Wario Ware on the revolution!)

Btw, did you get that email I sent ya?

Yeah that would be sweet.... I hope the PS3 comes up with something like that hehe. But and issue will always arise, how in the hell do i get enough room in my chair to be able to swing a sword lol

was bored enough to do arough draft in 3ds max 7 of a chainsaw attatchment for the controller. the wire could probable be attatched to something on your belt, or foot..or something. whoo!

It was that cheap old Samurai game, right? I played it once. Controls were VERY unresponsive.

HA! Nice. If The Behemoth ever makes a game that can do that (Ye Ole Sword Fighter?) , I'll buy the system AND the game in one swoop.

After seeing the Revolution promo video showing the guy violently swinging a virtual sword with the controller, let's hope that depiction was accurate.

From what I read on <www.PS3portal.com> is that the PS3 is suppose to rule them all in speed. It is 32x faster than PS2, 15x faster than Revolution, and faster than the 360 as well. Since I have a PS2 I will most likely get the PS3 to play all my old games. The site may have some bias considering it is called PS3 portal, but it does list the CPU components in each system.
