is there anyone out there interested in working on a RTS, especially anyone whos played sid's alien crossfire? i need graphics also willing to do alot myself, as well as the code. I want a total team effort from design to completion in all areas, as in agreeing apon graphics, music, gameplay, ideas etc. No foolin, i got the skills, I just need help to complete a worthwhile game. Lightwave prefered but no limited to.

I want to make a breakthough game, beyond what has been released before (is there anything else worth doing?). any comments welcome concerning the game.

what I'm thinking is definatly futuristic.. like settleing a hostel new planet such as mars or beyond? i'm not sure, beyond might allow more storyline options. If your interested at all drop a line or two here. Definatly open to any ideas, drop them even i they're crappy, we'll weed them out. Total team effort.

What ideas on gameplay do you have in mind? And could you show us a little work, not much, but something at least.

definatly I was waiting for someone to ask for that stuff, I'll throw the links at the end.

as for gameplay:
I'm thinking of a kinda new idea,
the player will have regular control over his/her units (etc tank and I'll use that for this example but every unit will be included in this control method), which would be, point and click (move, attack, stop.. defend). I can code this stuff, I have before. And before I ask for anything other the ideas I'll throw together a crappy looking but completely functional protype.

Units will be built at factories.. useing a system like starcraft, build this, you can build that. build these two things and you can build something advanced. also like C&C. But furturistic.

Players will be in charge of the resources like "ore" "fuel" etc.. and combine these different types to make whatever units buildings more resouces gatherers.

oh, top view of course, I feel like I want to make units "designable" but we'll see that might proove to be to advanced to be relisitic for a free game heh. riffs seems cool to base a model after! but we'll see I'll go in the direction the highest number of people want to go in just to complete the project.

darkener,who are these guys? accual 3d artists? like something you would see on tv? I guess you can tell between something you draw in flash vs an acual 3d image.

They are artist you can find on newgrounds. They should be able to help you i think. I could to, if i could get on to a full version of maya to do it. I will see what i can do.

I'm doing it for fun, I mean if your looking for a job go to work.com or whatever. if there was a way to make alot of money from this I would, but I'm sure there isn't... a worthwhile amount anyway, nothing would come close to minimum wage so a good game thats fun to work on looks pro and beefs up the portfolio sounds like a good idea to me.

sorry, heres the engine so far. Not pretty but all the numbers are there. arrow keys change your view. The graphics are incomplete so shapes will be stand ins for the buildinds, sqaures=buildings, circles=units. so far no ai, but everything is displaying and working correctly. different color buildings are different types. Not really a game yet but it's the bare bones of the engine.
