definatly I was waiting for someone to ask for that stuff, I'll throw the links at the end.
as for gameplay:
I'm thinking of a kinda new idea,
the player will have regular control over his/her units (etc tank and I'll use that for this example but every unit will be included in this control method), which would be, point and click (move, attack, stop.. defend). I can code this stuff, I have before. And before I ask for anything other the ideas I'll throw together a crappy looking but completely functional protype.
Units will be built at factories.. useing a system like starcraft, build this, you can build that. build these two things and you can build something advanced. also like C&C. But furturistic.
Players will be in charge of the resources like "ore" "fuel" etc.. and combine these different types to make whatever units buildings more resouces gatherers.
oh, top view of course, I feel like I want to make units "designable" but we'll see that might proove to be to advanced to be relisitic for a free game heh. riffs seems cool to base a model after! but we'll see I'll go in the direction the highest number of people want to go in just to complete the project.
