Just started listening to the most recent RBF album, and I gotta say, I'm not really digging it at all.

I have yet to get the new Mustard Plug album, but that's next on my list and I'll probably snag it and listen to it over the winter break.

Does anyone have any Arrogant Sons of Bitches albums (specifically Built To Fail, Pornocracy, or the Complete Discography CD) that they can send me over AIM? I only have 3 or 4 songs, but I like what I'm hearing of them.

Same with the Toasters, I love the Toasters, but it's hard to find any of their albums, for some strange reason. So yeah, if anyone can send me them, I'd be much obliged. :]

You can buy them off iTunes, or off amazon.

How was everyone's christmas? I got an Xbox360. And one of the first things I did was rip most my ska albums onto it.

I liked a few songs the first time through, then others really grew on me..
Now I can't stand any of the songs.

They didn't really play any of the new songs when I saw them live a month ago.
One or two.
Wasn't as good as last time I saw them either.
Still, i love them.

Its a bunch of Well known and probably local ska bands. It's a pretty good album, it has some good covers. Someone should check it out, I like it a lot.

King Prawn (very good)
Sublime
The Suicide Machines (very good)
Reel Big Fish
Less Than Jake (very good)
Madness
Rancid (they have a few ska songs eg Time bomb)

They just had a headline tour when the album came out, I can't tell if it's still going on though. I hope they come by new york again though.

Yeah but this new tour is 41 shows back to back , not that it matters but it's still epic as fuck.

Thanks man, it's going to be crazy since it is Streetlight headlining I've never heard of their opener zox.

It's weird because most ska bands aren't big on Guitar Solo's and everything. All the songs are from Tragic Kingdom.

The only bad thing about streetlight is that they're not entertaining when they play live. I can't say what it's like now with the new album out, but before they would play a select few from EGN then point/keasbey nights/counterpoint.

And that would be it, while other bands like RBF and LTJ put on a play to keep everyone excited and wild. I was so disappointed when streetlight left as soon as they got up.

I still want to see the toasters, but I never have any free time anymore :/

The Kalnoky troupe seems to be kinda pretentious, I can't really see them doing anything more than playing their songs like they're in a studio, with no stage banter, and then leaving.

Haha, it just seems like they're trying to create sort of artistic movement rather than being a "band". Nothing wrong with it, just seems like it would be boring watching them.

Well, the thing with streetlight is that they don't do much entertainment while preforming, it used to be the usual few from EGN, then Point/Counterpoint with Keasbey Nights in the middle, maybe if you're lucky they'd play another song from KN. But now that they have another album out they might entertain more.

Whereas BOTAR is Tom's more artistic side. It says on the inner cover of A Call To Arms ep That they wanted to try something new and interesting then the stuff that dominates the airwaves. And yeah Achilles plays Violin.

Well I mean besides that, It might've been just the show I went to or something but they didn't do much entertaining besides the usual songs they play.

I've gettin' after lotsa music that I'm supposed to like lately:

I've been gettin' after Buck-o-Nine lately, and wow, I'm not impressed. I'm not really seeing why people get up & arms over them, but then again I'm more into the punk influenced ska.

The Suicide Machines - A Match & Some Gasoline its aight, but its considerably their weakest album next to S/T. It had some crazy catchy tracks, but as an ensemble, it really fell short. Steal This Record was pretty damn good though, but maybe its just 'cause I like pop punk.

BtMI! - Get Warmer Demos, I'm a big sucker for this band and this album, but shit, Jeff really didn't care how this shit came out, his voice doesn't hit a lot of notes and it features really bare instrumentation.

Streetlight Manifesto - Somewhere in the Between, I finally sat down and listen'd to this album, and the first half of this album is amazing, whereas the ending is kindof dull and forced.. I love the metal riffs and that the guitar is actually a prominent instrument on this album compared to KN & EGN where Tom was rockin' a pretty dull overdrive in the background while the horns took mainstage.

K, I'm tired of typing. Can someone help me up the ska?
