Check out the Planet Smashers and Mustard Plug.

On the subject of Two-Tone, I really like the sound of it, but the only two tone I have is the Specials. I can't seem to find anything else, where can I get some?

1) Big D and the Kids Table (I think I mention this in pretty much every post I make here)
2) The Aquabats
3) Catch 22
4) Mustard Plug
5) Suburban Legends

But really, anything ska is awesome.

P.S Are the Cat Empire ska? They saughta are but not really.

Not exactly. A lot of their songs have ska influences, but they mix a bunch of different styles together. Awesome band.

Well, what's up guys?

I know I'm kinda late after this thread has had 40 pages but still, I want to join.
Well, I haven't been into ska nor reaggae for a long time, I started listening to it when my friend gave me a Subime CD. It was pretty neat, so I started listening to more bands. Since I llike punk a lot, I started to looks for bands that mxed both, and well I think it's very fun. but still, i prefer ska, it's more mellow I guess.
Some of the bands and singers I've been listening to are:

[Spunge]
Sublime
Less Than Jake
Bob Marley
Barrington Levy
Rancid
Operation Ivy
Assorted Jellybeans

I know it's not much, but I'm practically new to this, so am I in? If so, can any of you guys give me recommendations?

Thats alright, as long as you post often youre welcome here. If you like Bob Marley I think you would like Toots and Maytals.

yeah, I was shocked to find out that the songs Madness and One Step Beyond were covers, I forget his name right now but they were originally Traditional ska songs.

It's alright, because The Skatalites are playing a show this Saturday. Hell yeah!

Man, this thread is as dead as Ska.

The Skatalites kicked ass, and I also got to see Westbound Train again. The next big show for me is definitely RBF/LTJ/Streetlight/AAA. I might go see them twice (Hampton Beach/Boston) just for the hell of it.

Also, check out Have Nots, made up of members of Chicago Typewriter and Stray Bullets. I saw them on Friday, and it fucking kicked ass.

If you go to their myspace you'll see party down, the new album sampler, and new version of you, all up on the media player on the site. I didn't really think anything special of party down but new version of you is pretty catchy.

Sorry for double post but I forgot about this:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bby48gfPzuA&mode=u ser&search=

Our first show. That's an original song and if you click on more from this user, we played 2 covers also. The other songs aren't up yet because I got tired and fell asleep. I'm kinda mad at how the vocals came out because the PA was above and in front of us so no one could exactly hear ourselves so I was someone smothering the mic. Also, the guitar kept going out of tune a bit because I didn't string it tight enough but hey, the crowd liked it so who's complaining.

i like parts of everbody's drunks, namely the bit where its like..
'were all gonna get drunk, oh were already drunk' etc. because thats something that you can sing when your out drinking.. which is always fun.
ill be sure to try to get it going next time im at a party.
