I;ve just watched a documentary on BBC about murders linked with heavy metal. I feel that they talked a load of bullshit as it was a load of priests going "ooooo, children killing each other, ooooooo"

The point theyre missing is the people who believe Slayer lyrics are fucking nuts and that Satanism is just another religion (not to mention that christians have been more sacreligous towards satanists than satanists to christians)

state your views if you think heavy metal causes satanism and satanism is evil, or if you think it's a load of bullshit.

I agree with you, heavy metal is just music, there is no "satan" to speak of, and satanism doesn't actually dictate the belife of satan, I actually know a satanist, and it appears to be a rather level headed religion. Just for the record Heavy Metal > ALL

A lot of the stuff is bullshit - they mentioned 3 murder cases - hundreds of millions of people have listened to the music, yet they only had 3 cases?

I know loads of people who listen to death and black metal and they are just normal people. And the whole thing about it turning people against religion is rubbish - most of the mwere probably not spiritual in the first place.

Its beyind me that anyone could understand Chris Barnes (:P) roaring but even if people do know what he's saying, its for shock factor and not 'kill everyone'. That reminds me of when the parents pissed and moaned about Mötley Crüe's Shout At the Devil album. Saying it was satnanic. HOW THE FUCK IS SHOUTING AT THE DEVIL SATANIC? It makes no sense. They said it was telling kids to worship the devil and all this shit. It was the fucking opposite and they didn't get it i think they just needed their tampons.

Oh wait...there was that thing called the Crusades...how many people were killed in that? 40,000 in the first, 2,700 in the third because they were a "burden as prisoners" so right theres almost 43,000. That's just a few more than heavy metal.

Well, choir music and hymns tell you to worship god and that satan hates us all (its also extremely fucking cliched :P) and SOME metal bands create their own little hymns. So i cant see how christians can whine at us for being 'evil'.

Just because some heavy metal bands have Satanist lyrics doesn't mean a whole genre of music is "evil."

Ok first off, if every one just said they listened to heavy metal and that;s what made them kill/rape/rob someone, then no one would be guilty. There are very few bands that are actually satanists. The people who say music made them commit a crime are more than likely trying to get out of going to jail or are psycopathic.
