America doing a cut and run?!? Disgusting! America needs to stand tall! Now the terrorists will see our weakness and the top countries will start taking over(Middle Eastern, China) We all need to write letters to our senators and representatives through both e-mail and mail explaining to them why they shouldnt cut troops! We need to fix this!

Are you talking about politicians trying to get US troops out of Iraq, giving the Iraqi people full control over their country?

If you are talking about Iraq, its not a sign of weakness. Nothing makes terrorists less likely to kill you than a full scale occupation of a country. I mean look at the Soviets, their occupation of Checyna is doign a wonderful job of thwarting terrorists. Its when you leave you get problems with suicide bombers, kidnappings and such.

We're not cutting and running if the Iraqi Government is kicking us out. I say: Good, it's about time the Iraqi Government kicks us out of the region. I'm tired of thinking about it, tired of living with it, tired of the war, tired of the hawks, and tired of the doves. I don't even care that some of the Iraqi elected-officials said that there was a legitimate reason for terrorists to bomb the US and fellow Arabs. I just want our troops home safely on the terms of the Iraqi government.

What do we need to stand tall to. There is nothing we need even attmept to attack. The problem is we did attack and now they are bitting at our ankles.

How's a middle eastern country a top country? Your claims are baseless, and not very convincing.

THey are not Soviets, and have not been for 15 years. The USSR broke up, making Russia. Hence, they are called russians. Soviets, in all technicality, are simply boards or councils set up to govern a certain land area or specific aspect of life.

After the december elections We're going to start slowly taking troops out, but the ratio of defense in iraq will remain the same because to counterbalance or withdrawel will be the growth of the iraqi malitia.

Smith, you've got a great head on your shoulders, you seem to be a very educated person with some great ideas and opinions, unfortunately, all of that is negated with your poor spelling...

I really don't mind, just sometimes when the most crucial word in your sentence, it takes away from the overall punch of it.

It's not new, when your talking about manufacturing, it's new when your talking about how long i've been using it. My mom got a new one, so i got hers when mine started getting kooky.

That was a mistake on my part. I forgot the other half of my post, and yes I did make a mistake. I meant the Soviets in Afganistan, and the Russians in Checyna.

If you are refering to the resolution in Congress to immediately withdrawl all troops from Iraq, I should inform you that this measure was defeated by a vote of 403-3 with all the other voting present or not in session (even if they did vote in favor, it wouldn't have been enough to pass it). The media gave it alot of press when it was first proposed, but quickly retracted when it was beaten.
Apparently these pacifistic, wussy-boy Dems can talk the talk about troop withdawls, but they back down when the time for action comes.

Perhaps showing that you've made a stupid mistake and buggering off isn't a sign of weakness?

Yesterday i saw a thanksgiving broadcast from Camp Victory, and another from an army feast going down at one of Sadam's Palaces. Exactly what was the victory? Exactly what does removing Sadam and inviting all terrorist to Iraq achieve? How did that reduce the loss of Iraqi lives? How does hanging out in Sadams Palaces show you are any better than he was?

Maybe I don't get much exposure outside of my campus, but I was under the impression that the age of American Imperialism had long fallen by the wayside. Maybe we should enter a new age of imperialism and forcibly take over one soverign nation after another. We could start in our own back yard and control the rest of the continent in no time flat.
Or maybe...just maybe...we should be more concerned with issues inside our borders. Let's take care of our own citizens, folks. I want for our country to be strong but if it is rotting from the inside out then we'll have a lot more to deal with in the future.
Perhaps too few people are concerned about this because they're hoping they'll be dead and gone by the time the problems we are creating today will manifest themselves.

Weakness? Oh, right, I keep forgetting America doesn't like people taking the fight to them or shooting back...

They must fight back! That's how!
