Lol its easy not to get blammed but its hard to make GREAT movies, i made a pretty good stick man movie well not good but alright , it wasnt that long but at least i know how to use flash but i realised people who vote on the portal cant vote for shit, they gave some stupid ass strawberry clock bull shit a high vote but for me they gave me a fuckin low one so i was like these morons just want special effects , lmao so there you go, make your movie look like its a MASTER piece and maybe it will show up on the daily features page, i want to make a movie sometime but i got no time, i would make one today , well start it but i got work, flash requires A LOT of time when it comes to making an amazing movie. good luck

Man, if your movies keep on getting blammed, you should really work HARD on them! I spent weeks working on my movie ("counter force" - click here to view it) my friend sent the preview (I taught him flash, and sent him my .fla file to show him how I did my flash - I didn't know he would try to send it there. No, it's not exactly stealing cuz he gave me credit for it, but I didn't want him to send the preview to Newgrounds. That video got a 3.18 - and it's just the preview - 20% of the full movie) - and am still working on it. I took so long to try to make it good, and I really get pissed when users stuff the portal up by sending 5 minute crap just to try to get credit for it, and especially when these crappy shit-movies don't get blammed.

Defenately make a pre-loader! People like to know how long they have to wait till the movie starts! Work very hard on it! Keep improving and testing things before you submit your movie! If you haven't found out yet: Tween Motion is a very easy way to make animations, you can learn how to use it by (in Flash) going to Help>Lessons>Creating Tweened Animation ! Provide some important info about the movie in the Authors Comment section! Take all the time for making the movie, it takes a lot o time to make a good movie!
Now let's hope your next movie won't get blammed, Good Luck!

The Secret to not getting blammed for me is to have a good story for your movie. You can have the crappiest drawings in the world but, if you have a laughable story that will touch the heart of millions you are gauranteed a medal!

A good way to not get blammed would be to fully spell out every word you type. If you can't manage stringing a single sentance together without using shorthand, then you obviously lack any effort at all to create a good flash movie. So stop being a dumbass by taking shortcuts to make your life easier, nobody likes a lazy asshole.

I know what you mean!
I've worked really hard on mine.
I thought I animated it pretty good.
But, sadly....not good enough.

whoa man, ive never actually had a movie blamed, one way of nott getting blammed is what those fuckin clocks do, they all vote for each others movies (how cheap). Maybe someone will make a group that votes for each other not related to clocks... i'd like to know aboat it if it happens!

Think things through before you start. The time spend planning will be rewarded by avoiding the BLAM.
Things to do:
1- Get a good idea for a story. It doesn't have to be the best ever in the world, just original and fun.
2- Make a storyboard. That will help you a lot and save countless headaches.
3- Make model sheets for you characters. Define which elements will be animated.
4- Create backgrounds.
5- Record spoken parts and later sync the animation with the sound, not the reverse.
6- Draw frame by frame on paper, using a lightbox. Then scan and import into flash. Vectorize and color in flash or use Strealiner.
7- Be very patient. Test, test, test and re-test your animation.
8- Put in sound effects and music.
9- Keep filesize as low as possible.
10- make a pre-loader.
11- Be very patient. Animation kings like Sirkowski work hard and long on their flash animation projects.
12- Hope for the best, and if you get blammed, see that as a sign that you are not yet good enough. Keep at it until you succeed.
13- Oh, and don't ever say things like "This is my first Flash", or "Don't blam this" or "I don't care if you blam this", because people will only be to happy to BLAM.
14- Napoleon once said "I'd rather have lucky generals". So best of luck to you.

My advice to you is not to be too eager to post something. The longer you spent working on something, the more likely you are to get a decent score on it.
There is no one formula to make a good movie. I've seen movies that had some of the worst graphics get good scores because they were either interesting or hilarious, I've also seen movies with very little entertainment value beyond their incredible graphic appeal get high scores.
Just try to keep in mind, while you might just be trying to get used to Flash, people come to Newgrounds expecting to be entertained, and if they aren't, they won't be too happy with your work, not many voters are going to give you points for effort.
To whoever it was that insulted him for using abbreviated text: There's nothing wrong with typing in short-forms. It's faster, and the less time you spend typing, the more time you can spend doing something else, like programming.

That was disgusting! I think you scared everybody who read this topic for life!, just nasty.....anyways ya , movies that are rushed usually get blammed if you spent up to a month and KNOW how to use flash, most likely you will get a great score, with me i got impatient because i just learned flash, threw some crap together and saw it blammed. but i just wanted to try it out for the first time on the portal, anyways , my point is to work HARD on our movies, they always say that rome wasn't built in a day and its true. so ya just work on your projects , even if it takes weeks, console wars episode 2 took like 5 months to make! and look now its number 1, or 2 lol.....anyways good luck to you all, when i get some time, hopefully soon i will be making a movie soon but unfortunately with school and work its VERY hard to start a movie.

Effort. Plenty of Effort. Try and make it orgiginal and clear. If the story or the action is blurred people lose intrest and blam or just random vote for points.
1. Make a movie with a feeling, style or idea thats original
2. Give the film character. Try and make the characters in the film actual people.
3. Spent a long time making sure that the story is interesting and maybe a bit funny. Humour goes far. You make someone laugh, they vote and remember.
4. Try and mke ur own style, This my take a long time.
5. Work hard and produce the best you possibly can. That is all you can really do. Produce your very best. If people dont like it. try again, or tell em to go fuck themselves.
