How to be cool on the bbs

Now Im seeing alot of new people joining up, so through my experince ive concluded # sacred rules you must follow if you want to be cool on the bbs to help new people fit in.

1 Iwillpress is a respected member here on newgrounds, and members here are very intolerant of people who dont like foamy. Make sure you say you like foamy in every single post; refrence him, quote him, whatever you have to do.

2 Bedn jokes never get old! Even if the thread your in has nothing to do with bedn say "OMGZ BEDN STOLED MY CADNY!". Also, if you dont know who bedn is you should make a thread in the general forum asking who he is now.

3 If you have flash talent, make sure you join the star syndicate. Everybody loves them! They've gained respect for there constintaly high quality flashes. One of my favorites is "a blank screen", the graphics in this one are just amazing.

4 If somebody posts something thats too long to read, even if its well thought its cool to respond saying "TLDR. J00 FAIL. EDN."

5 Its cool to be emo! Even if your not, try to act like one and make sure you have your name suronded in Xxx's, it makes you hardcore. Example: "XxxI_R_EMOxxX"

To be cool on the BBS (IMO):

1) Be yourself
2) Don't be a jerk (unless the sarcasm is obvious)
3) Try not to make many one line posts
4) Respect other users, even when they try to start a flame war
5) Don't be a kiss ass for no reason, but it's okay to complement users for the good things they have done
6) Be mature (most of the time)
7) Don't be an attention whore (although this may make you a mod?)
8) Make well thought out and interesting posts
9) Create well thought out topics
10) Don't be racist, sexist, or hatefull (unless the sarcasm is obvious)

How to be "cool" on the BBS.

1. Make references to really obscure TV shows that only aired one episode and only 12 people watched. This means you can be a snob when the uneducated ask "whut is that ur talkin bout"

2. Change your online indentity once every few weeks, so people get confused. Using older names of other cool people confuses them even more, lovely.

3. Talk about things on IRC, then refer to them in a BBS topic so most people don't know and are "out of the loop" which is very cool on your behalf.

4. Be patronizing.

5. Use "THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS" when people seem to be angry about something.

In all sincerity, I believe that this topic is entirely genuine, and that the topic starter isn't being sarcastic at all. When he posted saying he was, that was sarcasm, the opening post was like totally, not. Yaknow ?

The reason I say this, is due to the quote directly above my inital typings, made by one VeinsOnFire- ( A slightly precarious gentlemen, with no real sense of wit, if I do say so myself. Which I do. Say so myself, that is.). You see, it's pretty much common knowledge that all things 'mainstream' are rather drab and uninteresting. Ergo, anyone dong anything that opposes the 'mainstream' view of things, should be instantly recognised as wholly cool in nature, and given the praise they so desperatly deserve. For example, anyone that dislikes 'mainstream' music, simply for the fact that is mainstream, is instantly awesome.

In the same way, anyone that would oppose the generic etiquete that the NG populace places upon themselves, should instantly be seen as a higher order of being. Therefore, the topic starter has indeed layed the foundations of all things cool, and any/all new users shouldn't be hoodwinked by rapscallions like the quoted, into believing otherwise.

I mean, I've always opposed the mainstream, and look where it's gotten me. Big man on Campus, yo.
