Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a lot of testosterone flying around the audio forum lately?

Even more shite is that the metal community in particular contributes the most by leaps and bounds.

It's really disheartening to come onto the forum, only to see people mouthing off about how tr00 they are, or how much better they are at playing than everyone else, or that a particular band is so much better than any other band out there etc.

Obviously I'm not aiming this at everyone. The few people who are responsible will probably know who they are. All the old crew though, no blame is placed upon you guys ^_^.

Yes, I know it might sound hypocritical coming from me. I'm totally guilty of having dissed bands. I try to hold my tongue as much as possible though, and from now on, if I've got nothing good to say about something, then I'm not going to say it.

I just remember the days when the audio portal was fun and free of all this stupid ego shit. A whole bunch of random blow ins have had to ruin it for everyone >:(

Anyway, I'm probably going to get flamed, but I'm beyond caring. I've taken my care hat off and thrown it under my bed.

But it's not that. That's completely understandable. That's more a matter of common sense than having a high opinion of ones self.

If all the stupid bickering doesn't stop between the metalheads, then I'd at least like to see some of the IDM or electronica people start arguing about who's better, just so everything is a bit more even ;D

jees dude, don't take everything so seriously, when I say Immortal is tr00 I mean grim frostbitten kvltness. Immortal is a totally gay band, but they're a good laugh and it's great to call yourself an Immortal fan for you can say you are tr00er than anyone else.

This is another issue that has a simple answer; just ignore it.

I agree with this thread, but it's just a generalization because of how many individuals we'd be trying to reach, a lot of artists get caught up in the moment, because of how successful their music is.

If you try to point this out, their answer will be "It's all in good fun, for me to poke out how much you suck and I rule, but it's all a joke, that's my defense". In the end, they end up feeling like asses, and that's all that matters.
