MAC IE users were having issues with the roll-over info boxes in The Portal. I have made some adjustments to address this issue. Right now it is VERY IMPORTANT that you email me (or respond to this thread) if you are still having bugs on this page.
If the new rollover boxes previously worked for you but now don't, TELL ME!
If you are a MAC IE user who previously had problems and now you don't, TELL ME!
I don't have a MAC so I can't test it. I did a browser detect for MAC IE and set it to ignore the code if that was the case, so MAC IE users should see the Portal the old way - without having rollover boxes. The bugs SHOULD be gone (I hope).

I have a Mac with a 5.0 IE and I have no probs; HOWEVER, I'm still having probs voting. I use a Mac with a 56k and the voter never works. Sure, it works when I use Virtual PC, but it's a pain to start that up every time.

The Roll-Over Box works fine for me. Just a quick question. Are you able to see your score if your the one that made the movie?

There is one thing I still do not like. When you submit a flash you are sitting there refreshing waitng until 100 have Voted. And yet you do not know when 100 have voted becuase you only see how many have Seen the flash. So my suggestion is to be able to see how many have voted. That be it! Otherwise gj liljimmy!... Tom Fulp! and all the rest of you crazy people!

I have a Mac running IE 5. Everything is working fine now, except the swfs on the page are jerky and slow.

I'm on a Mac and would like to tell you, but I'm a Mozilla user. Left the PC for the Mac three years ago and haven't looked back, thus what sense would it make to use IE? But I can say that the popups do work great in the Mac version of Mozilla.
I remember a day when webmasters coded pages with clean, non-specific platform and browser code and kept concern that it should work with all of them, and these days, it's a "I'll just code for IE" mentality that's sloppy and shouldn't be followed, IMO. (It's like opening a highway and only letting Chevy owners use it) Good code is cross-compatible, whether you're IE, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera or Lynx (well, I doubt Lynx will ever be an optimal choice for NG, but you get my drift) :P
Kudos to you making all of NG's features accessible to everyone and your efforts are appreciated.

When I said the end of the month I meant December, but I posted it at the end of November so it was taken the wrong way. :)

ive been saying this for years. i for one always made sure my code worked everywhere. i will again when i make my new web page. as for people askign about "why mac", well, its easier, more powerful, more stable. yes there are software limitations and i do want a pc for gaming, but otherwise tis not that bad. and yes it is more powerful, and yes all major and minor multimedia/graphics firms use macs (industrial light and magic for example) because they have more power and stability. take a visit to a design firm and youll see few to no pcs there.. if you know computers you know macs are good. its a matter of opinion which is better, but if you just think macs suck, well... CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'RE A MORON! heh heh newbies

Actually, MACs are the computer of choice for animators. My friend Bari majors in animation and minorsin graphic arts, and she uses the MAC because most of the animation software is designed specifically for one due to its capabilities.
