Yeah, generosity shouldn't be forced on me, forcing me to commit my money for something like this is shitty, it's all just shitty. It's fine if you want to fill up a shoebox, just don't make me.

So let's see; it'll cost me about £1 for a shitty colouring set (that's about $1.90), £4 for some cuddly toy or something, some hygeine products perhaps amounting to £1, and probably about £1 worth of sweets, all for a cause I don't particularly believe in. And if I start to earn a lot of money, of course I'll be excessively charitable, but I don't want to be forced to dish out money for a religious charity that does work which isn't really important and wont have any long-term benefits.

Man, I don't want to be forced into donating. Get the fuck off your high-horse; I'm personally in grave doubts about the success of charity at the moment and whether it's even at all worthwhile. Sure, for hurricanes and tsunamis and earthquakes, but the rest of it doesn't seem to do anything.

Actually, the English government are going to ban this because 'it may offend Ethnic Minorities'. God, idiots. The politically correct should be locked away in nut houses because they're clearly not stable. As for charities, I don't like them. More money goes towards the organisation than the actual cause, when you sign your name for something they start taking £20+ out of your bank and force you to pay for certain things, those wrist bands won't solve poverty, they encourage it and Bob Geldof knows all the money for Africa etc. goes into a dictator's Swiss Bank account. Think about it; we have been raising billions and billions and billions for decades for these countries, so why aren't they living the life of reily? Something isn't right and I don't want to encourage this greed. Besides, I'm a poor student as it is so how the hell can I donate much if I'm barely feeding meself properly? I mean I donate coppers because coppers are useless to me, but you see what I mean. *^_^* \m/

The only way for countries to get prosperous is to do what China's doing now, and what Britain did 100 years ago, and go through a heavily exploitative working system to get some financial gain.

Somehow I don't forsee a shoebox full of cheap plastic trinkets and cheap toiletries making a dent in poverty, disease, and famine.

This is BS. Instead write an essay (you've got the skills) about why it's BS. Like charity should be from the heart and how it really isn't making a difference and why those countries need meaningful agricultural & financial reform, not presents.
