You have to put a movieclip with the animation inside the button. In the over stance.

put the BG on a layer below the flying saucer :)
that should stop the BG moving with your saucer

I'd recommend using more layers. A layer for backgrounds... main... sounds... Actionscript... that kinda stuff.

I think I know your problem.

Thats because the keyframe is just inserted in the saucer layer. Like this:

Saucer............o.....o
Background....o....x

You get what i mean. Then you must insert a frame in the background layer.

1. Make sure that your backround is in layer one, and you can lock it if you want, bbut it doesn't matter.
2. The reason why your backround turned white is because yourbackround and your ship didn't have the same amount of franes something like this
88888
88880
Just to make sure that doesn't happen again why don't you just insert 50 frames of the backround then you can delete the extra if you don't need it.
3. Good luck with the flash and I would like to see what you can come up with.

first of all, thx for not bein a noob and goin OMG IR00xorz yoUU r succs I c4nt d0 this.

secondly.

to fix your problem when you insert a keyframe it selects everything. when you make a new keyfram just click on anywhere on the screen that doesnt have white dots. then move teh alien.

heres a better way. press F6 to make a new keyframe and it wont highlight it.(this way is easier)

DUDE 2 ADVICES:

1) Separate the B-G layer and lock it so you dont mess it up AND have it along the frames you whant it to go

2)check some tutorials.
there are grat ones on the NG flash submit area and also a good page would be
www.learnflash.com
