I like ranting!!!

Though thats not the only reason.

There is no better feeling for some people, then knowing they single handidly possess the power to crush somebody else's motivation. To some that is an INCREDIBLE power.

Why do people go into the genre they don't like and vote 0? Not because they sincerely don't like the genre, simply because that genre does not effect their lives, they choose to destroy that genres populace, to crush the hopes and inspiration to those who dwell in that genre, to subconsiously build their own.

After all, why would a heavy rock listener, give a DAMN if they went into techno or classical and just voted 0 on everything they saw? Does it effect their music? No. Not directly. Does it effect the person, to some, greatly so.

It is difficult to listen and appreciate many forms of music, because your brain grows up and thrives on one type of music as you mature. Think about it, a heavy rock listener would punch your lights out if you made them listen to classic, and a classic listener, would look at you strange if you showed them heavy rock.

I could give you a PhD thesis on this subject, but i'm going to stop here, i'm sure 75% of you stopped reading three paragraphs ago :).

Yeah, FUCK those genre haters. FUCK 'em to hell. Now, lets get back to voting UP those who deserve it, and giving those who deserve it RECOGNITION.

I agree, crushing somebody else's motivation is what people are trying to do when they vote zero. I see some of the less popular genres like goth getting alot of zero votes when some of the songs don't deserve it. I mean 3.50 is a high score on that page.

For the most part I find that people that listen to metal are pretty open minded. After all it's a genre that doesn't get a lot of respect in the mainstream.

I got a really hateful review in one of my songs but the funny part is- he forgot to vote "0"! My song score actually went up! :D

I still havent got a flat out zero review yet... im quite shocked actually!

Zero voting and reviews make me laugh.

It's funny though because this feeling is completely empty. I mean, they don't see the disapointed person, and it doesn't make them feel better about themselves, they simply feel good that they made someone else feel bad. Then 5 minutes later, they go back to their little shitty lives of selfdownloading their own songs for some more artificial happiness. It's just like the hacker that makes the uber great virus and that is "thinking" about all the peoples pc's he's just screwd up. Not seeing anything, simply ASSUMING he's got the only working computer left on the planet.

People seem to be building alot on this emptyness, and when they open their eyes and that they realise what is going on, it's already too late. They are falling in emptyness. Buiding somthing takes a lifetime but it's also worth a lifetime. So if your are constantly building, the little zeros should simply bouce back from where they came.
Patience is a virtue, and a great reward... that you'll have to wait for :D ...and see for yourself.

That's just my 2 cents. Feel free to complain at me or give your opinion on the matter.

It's not really about making someone else feel bad, the people that abuse music have no background in music creation, they dont understand how hard it is, or do they take the time to understand it.

They match the music they listen to, to some pro-artist they like, and then criticize from there. In turn, they just feel smart, and think that if they open their mouth again, they'll be listened to.

Haha, I just got zero voted. I guess it's inevitable. Still sucks tho. :(

The worst thing however, is that 0 voting is contagious, a virus that will infest all the new comers, depending on this will and how quickly they are hit.

If somebody hits somebody with a 0, that person gets upset (if they are not confident in their skills, they will generally begin to BELIEVE that they suck, which they don't). Some composers will take their wounded pride, lost confidence and perhaps never make another track, while others, take that hurt, and lash it out ten fold, hitting several hundred others with 0's, probably in the genre in which they reside in.

As for the zero voting issue, I really don't care cause my music is pretty bad. The only time it ever effects me is 5 minutes before midnight on Tuesday, when whatever I had recently submitted suddenly goes from 4.30 to 2.84. It'd be nice if music were sorted by popularity rather than score. Or at least as an alternative bracket. And that one vote per lifetime means a lot of songs may only ever recieve two or three votes ever. Unless you are already established, or you whore yourself out every chance you get.

But of course, all this was being complained about years before now. And if any changes are made, it still wouldn't ever be perfect.

sry for the short rant but I'm pissed right now. I had 3 tunes with a score at 4.25 and such. I look at my AP now and all 3 went down to 3.50 or 3.60. Thx a lot you fucken zero assholes, nice way of motivation.

The best thing is I name myself into Goremustard or Demon_Prayer13, maybe they vote 5 then!? Who knows. To get things clear, I have nothing against those two (GoreBastard, Demon_Slayer), there music is awesome, but I have the feeling that you must have those nicks to stay on the top.
