I think, as he is an intelligent and charismatic role model for young black men in this country - that Kanye West should go into politics.
As of yet, he has been the only influencial person to speak out against THE MAN's lack of care for us black folks.
You're my hero Kanye, peace out brotha.

Does the fact that he stated on national television an idea which had already been circling for days in other media make him qualified to run a state or nation?
Is he at all capable of budgeting/social policy/international relations?
Or did he just say something shocking at the right time.

Oh yes, Besides giving black people equal rights as whites, Having an entire law for black people which they can abuse at will (hate crimes)*, and everything else, we still dont care for black people.
* I dont mean that in a racist sense, I mean like if a white person is in a car and honks at a black person, They can sue him and say, "He only honked at me because Im black.

well i'm glad that you have a role model but kanye from what i've read and heard out of his own mouth comes off as a little to hateful for my taste. He has special interests in mind which isn't a bad thing and by all means i believe he would get support but i wouldn't vote for the guy.

Id'e say Kanye West is the least influential or important person to speak out for blacks that can come to mind. I think he's just a bigot who said something controversial. And I also highly doubt that Bush hates blacks since his Cabinent from his first term was the most racialy diverse in American history. But I guess all repubicans are racist huh.

yes all republicans are racist. the racially diverse cabnet was composed of brainwashees and corrupt white politicians. And ronald regan was the devil. Thank u.
:i kid, i kid
I do agree with you tho that kayne west comes off more as a bigot than anything else.
I think a better question is : What if the president was black? And the same events had still occured? Would the president still not care about black people?
Would people be afraid to protest the president for fear of being called "racists".
These are important questions we need to ask ourselves.

You could stop being against "the man" and start being proactive.
It's much easier to blame someone else than to actually try to solve the problem.

Kanye West is an idiot.
There. I said it.
All he did was say that Bush hates black people (a claim that he has no way of backing up), and now he's a hero for it. He just said something profoundly stupid. If he went in to politics and won, I would consider this country's political mindset to be absolutlely insane.

Kanye West is a joke. He thinks that he can impose his political will on America's youth because hes popular in the world of pop culture. Apparently, he's right since you seem to like him so much. How about you find a REAL role model to look up to.

So says the woman...
;-)
Anyways,
Kanye West? I don't think so...
Although...
Amiri Baraka-- not that's a better possibility, perhaps?

Kanye West ruined the Katrina relief program. I wonder how much money they lost as a direct result of those selfish remarks. Instead of donating, people flooded the phones lines to complain.
I don't think Kanye West cares about black people.

I think that this is all horribly wrong. Nearly everyday there are racial issues that go on because "so-and-so did whatever cuz I'm black". New Orleans was a massive tradgedy to our nation, rivaled only by 9/11 and to belittle it with this "Bush hates black people" is uncomprehensibly outrageous.
Kanye West is NOT some hero, he is a glorified Hollywood low-life who should apologize to the nation for his inappropriate outburst. I will vote Hillary Clinton president before I grant Kanye West another ounce of my respect.

Kanye West is nothing more than 2-bit rapper who saw an interview as an opportunity to preach his bullshit views on TV. I'm willing to be that half of it was intended to get publicity.
And it's retards like you that make black people look bad.

You guys are trying to debate with someone named "Blackpantha Tyrone"?
That's like trying to convince neo-nazis and KKK members that their views are wrong. It's not possible, they are so rooted in their beliefs arguing with them is like arguing with the Pope that Jesus isn't the messiah. Pointless.
With the exception of those who didn't take this thread seriously,
The rest of you are idiots for keeping this thread alive.

Well, I can't speak for the rest of them, but I mainly just like to call out bullshit when I see it. Never took this guy seriously, just felt the need to state my opinion.
