i can understand the reason that ban counts can be a bannable offense but until it is on the slate that is the rules then it should not be enforced

you don't see people on the street put in jail for something that was made up on the spot by the police

and I think the thing above about the rules is true. I got banned for using binary. It was not spamming, Its still a type of communicating. i got banned 3 times I beleive....

Well at least Maus is not being an asshole and banning people for it. She said that she's just deleting the sig, so I'll give her that. Also, she was the only one willing to stand up and take flack over it by making a topic about it. So I agree, Maus should receive the less flack over this, compared to the mods who were banning/deleting sigs without ever telling anyone that this was a rule.

since every mod is doing this. there are other things people get banned for that arent specifically stated in the rules but are detremental to the BBS in general which is why we do what we do.

Right... the ban count in our sigs is soooo detrimental to the bbs. Talk about being overdramatic. If anything, the pointless rules like this one have been more detrimental to the bbs than a stupid "ban count" in people's sigs. Maus said it best, "nobody cares about your ban count", so why make it an issue to have it banned from people's sigs? Obviously the mods care, or else it would never have been an issue in the first place.

If having the legitimacy of posts like this being questioned is an issue, why not have Wade make a post about it or update the rules?

When rules like this pop up, people couldn't complain that it's just one mod being pissed off or whatever, because it's the guy in charge of the forums saying what he wants the forum rules to be.

Not that it truly affects me; I'd like to think I have the sense to not put something like this in my sig in the first place. It's just a suggestion if it does seem like a problem to some mods. :|

Good question. At least then it won't sound like some half-cocked rule made up by the mods.

Even if Wade made the rule, I'd still disagree with it, but there's nothing you can really say when the actual admin creates a rule. Admins can do whatever they want here. If he wanted, he could replace all our sigs with a picture of Mickey Mouse or heck Tom could have the whole bbs annihilated with one simple command "Delete the BBS".

* You have to delete a whole sig in order to get rid of one thing.
* You can only ban a person for 29.(some odd ass decimal) days, and the bans end at like 3:14 EST.
* If you destroy a topic, the topic starter is consdered a regular poster rather than the topic starter if they end up posting in the topic.

But since I don't know jack shit about PHP, I'll shut the hell up.

It's not just silly, it's stupid to care about something like this. This "newgrounds" place gets shittier and shittier everyday. Not that I have ever even put a ban count in my sig.

Replace "silly" with "serious" and that sentence makes more sense because you guys really are taking something as silly as a ban count, way too seriously. Unless the sig is blatently offensive, like "kill the Jews" or it contains something pornographic, then I'd understand completely why it was deleted... but "ban count"? Come on guys, you really gotta lighten up creating new rules here.
